Ninja's Luxe Cafe Premier Espresso Machine Makes Short Work of Morning Shots
I really, really appreciate Ninja's take on the Luxe's milk steaming system. Some automatic espresso machines incorporate a container of milk that has to be brought back and forth from the refrigerator, like the ones from this list. The Luxe, however, keeps it classic with a pitcher that you simply add milk to and a wand that begins steaming at the press of a button, another reason why it's great for those who want barista-quality coffee drinks without all the guesswork. You can manually steam milk if you so choose, or you can steam milk to four programmed settings, and this includes a cold foam. There's also a setting for a plant-based option, and the Luxe adjusts automatically to this. I had little to no issues with this milk frother and enjoyed the opportunity to practice some latte art, even if the pitcher's spout isn't ideal for it. Quirks and Quality The Luxe has a removable hopper and rapid heat-up time, which are fantastic. To the left of the machine is where much of your coffee's assembly happens. Before you grind your coffee, you'll place a funnel on the portafilter to keep it in place. Unfortunately, after a couple months of use, the funnel's plastic corners are chipping. When not in use, there's a designated spot for the funnel on the left side of the machine alongside the pressure-click tamper. I really like this tamper, as tamping is something I often overthink (Am I creating enough pressure? Do I have an even surface?), and the Luxe's is designed for you to apply the ideal amount of pressure. The water reservoir doesn't come with a filter, unfortunately. As for the drip tray, it's easy to remove and clean. An orange notch pops up when the tray needs to be emptied. On average, I empty the drip tray every four to five drinks. A handful of times the machine has leaked, even with the drip tray being empty. A shelf allows the Luxe to accommodate your 2-ounce espresso shots but can be removed to allow room for a travel mug as large as 18 ounces. One common gripe about the Luxe is that despite the portafilter having two spouts, there is not enough room to accommodate two espresso cups on the shelf or drip tray, which is strange. However, one of the biggest misses on this machine is that there's no hot water spout, something I particularly enjoyed with a machine like the De'Longhi Magnifica Start. My beef with many Ninja kitchen appliances is that sometimes they try to do too much, like the cooler with an added 'frost vault.' The Ninja Luxe Cafe feels different, however, considering how intentional it was in competing with other new-age espresso machines. Pulling espresso is solid and, while occasionally inconsistent, delivers an overall smooth and robust shot. The drip coffee was good, not great, and the cold brew can be bitter since it uses the room-temperature water from the filter. Like many Ninja products, the machine sits in a weird space. A coffee purist may choose a straightforward machine without all the assists of the Luxe, while a true beginner may not feel comfortable investing in the Luxe's 'all-in-one' style. Nevertheless, it's an overall quality piece of equipment at a fair price that makes me view the Ninja brand with respect when it comes to its coffee game.

Cityflo, an urban mobility firm, said it has rolled out a comprehensive AI-powered driver safety stack across its fleet, as part of its broader push to create enterprise-grade operating standards in a space that has long lacked formalisation. The move marks a significant leap in how road safety and fleet discipline are enforced within the country's mobility sector, it said. 'As the industry grows, while we add more buses—we need stronger systems to run them better,' said Rushabh Shah, CBO, Cityflo. 'Our belief is that operational excellence begins with full transparency on what is happening inside and outside the cabin. This rollout is about institutionalising safety and performance—not just reacting to lapses, but preventing them altogether.' At a time when the conversation around mobility is largely dominated by electrification and app interfaces, Cityflo said it is placing focus on what happens behind the wheel. Its new system blends two key technologies: an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that supports the driver with on-road alerts, and a driver monitoring system (DMS) that supervises driving behaviour within the cabin. Together, they form a dual-safety net designed to reduce risk, improve accountability, and deliver consistency in driver performance at scale. Deployed in partnership with safety intelligence startup Cautio, the system has already been integrated across most Cityflo buses and Luxe cabs operating in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi. Full fleet integration is expected in the next month. This upgrade comes at a critical time—India accounts for 11% of global road fatalities with just 1% of the world's vehicles, as per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Over 90% of crashes linked to human error, often related to driver fatigue, distraction, or poor judgement under pressure. Cityflo's dual-system approach aims to directly tackle this root cause. With over 600 trained drivers on payroll and a fleet of 400+ buses, Cityflo operates across Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad—covering more than 10 million kilometres and serving over 6.6 million rides annually. Cityflo is among the few mobility operators in India building systemic capabilities that goes beyond software layers and bus supply.

I finally tried the Saatva Classic and was blown away — but there's a different luxury hybrid mattress I'd buy in the Memorial Day sales

Does the entire Tom's Guide sleep team agree with me? Absolutely not. The Saatva Classic was awarded an impressive perfect score during testing (check out our Saatva Classic mattress review for a closer look), out performing the Luxe. However, mattress comfort is subjective and if I think the Luxe is superior in comfort to the Saatva, there's a chance you might too. As well as outstanding pressure relief when side sleeping (bye hip pain), its enhanced lumbar support helps relieve my recurrent lower back pain while the inclusion of up to 1,000 individually wrapped coils means it's supportive enough for back sleepers, too. Some of the sales are pretty generous, especially the ones that throw in extra pillows and bedding. I've been doing this long enough to notice sales trends across brands. For instance, Saatva usually peaks around $600 off mattresses, while Nectar has been known to mark 50% off. Most big names offer sales within a specific range, so if you can't afford a mattress right now, don't sweat it. There's always another holiday coming.
