HSL woman employee honoured at maritime event
M. Bhanu Priya, deputy general manager (design and business development) of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), was felicitated for her pioneering work in maritime design during the 'International Day for Women in Maritime', an event held at the Taj in Mumbai.
The International Day for Women in Maritime, observed globally on May 18, celebrates the achievements and impact of women in the maritime sector. She was the only women officer to have been conferred this award from shipyards and Andhra Pradesh, according to a release here from the HSL.
The Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, along with the National Maritime Day Celebrations Committee, organised the event, where Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal was present.
Ms. Bhanu Priya was honoured for her key role in advancing green shipbuilding technologies, particularly in the design of hydrogen-powered tugs. Her work underscores the importance of innovation and sustainability in shaping the future of the maritime industry.
