Valedictory session held to mark the completion of inaugural batch of EPBM course at IIMV
A valedictory session was held on Sunday to mark the completion of the inaugural batch of 12-month Executive Programme in Business Management (EPBM) at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV). The programme, tailored for mid to senior level professionals, saw the participation of 81 corporate executives representing diverse industries from across the country, with the average work experience of the cohort being an impressive 15 years. Addressing the participants, Programme Director Sushil Kumar said, 'The ultimate objective of such programmes is sustained professional performance. The EPBM was designed keeping in mind the conceptual dilemmas and real-world challenges faced by today's business leaders.' The programme consisted of a wide range of critical subjects, including general management, strategic thinking, finance, business communication, design thinking, AI, and more. The participants shared personal reflections on the course and expressed appreciation for the knowledge gained, the insightful interactions with faculty, and the vibrant peer learning environment. One participant said, 'I am walking out with a new mindset,' while another added, 'The programme helped immensely in upskilling and adding real value.' While a businessperson said, 'As an entrepreneur, I knew how to do business but by the end of this programme, I now know how to do it systematically.' Delivering the valedictory address, IIM Visakhapatnam Director M. Chandrasekhar congratulated the participants and emphasised the importance of the core values of humility, honesty, harmony, and humanity. He urged the cohort to nurture a constant hunger for learning, noting that excellence was a moving target that requires continuous effort. He stressed that in today's dynamic business environment, success hinges not only on managing resources effectively but also on managing relationships. Programmes like the EPBM, he said, offer professionals a valuable degree of control over the future, equipping them with the mindset and tools needed to lead. Programme Co-Director Amit Shankar extended a vote of thanks. A special highlight of the session was the appreciation of the top three capstone projects, showcasing innovative and impactful ideas developed during the programme.

124 students graduate from EMBA programme
Visakhapatnam: A total of 124 students graduated from the EMBA programme, representing a diverse cohort from 17 Indian states and four foreign countries, including 24 women. The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) hosted a special convocation on Saturday to mark a significant milestone of the graduation of the first-ever batches of its Executive MBA (EMBA) and Post Graduate Programme in Management for the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions and Institutions of National Importance (PGPMCI). The graduating class had an average age of 33 years and nearly nine years of professional experience, underscoring the programme's focus on leadership development for working professionals. In the PGPMCI programme, 72 students successfully completed their first year and were awarded diplomas in Business Management. The convocation ceremony was inaugurated by Prof. Janat Shah, Member of the Board of Governors, IIMV, who spoke about the rapid growth of India's startup ecosystem and emphasised the importance of creating positive societal impact through business. M. Chandrasekhar, Director of IIMV, presented the Director's report, applauding the achievements of both the programmes and their students. Citing insights from an exit survey, he noted that approximately 70 percent of EMBA students reported improvements in strategic thinking, broader business perspectives, and enhanced confidence and credibility. Attending as chief guest, D Shivakumar, operating partner at Advent International, delivered an inspiring keynote address. The ceremony honoured nearly 200 graduates, reflecting IIMV's continued commitment to fostering leadership, excellence and lifelong learning across diverse professional and academic domains.

A total of 124 students graduated from the EMBA programme, representing a diverse cohort from 17 Indian States and 4 foreign countries, including 24 women. The graduating class had an average age of 33 years and nearly nine years of professional experience, underscoring the programme's focus on leadership development for working professionals. In the PGPMCI programme, 72 students completed their first year and were awarded Diplomas in Business Management. The convocation ceremony was inaugurated by Janat Shah, Member of the Board of Governors, IIM-V, who spoke about the rapid growth of India's startup ecosystem and emphasised the importance of creating positive societal impact through business. M. Around 60% saw growth in their leadership abilities, while 50% reported improved interpersonal skills and expanded professional networks. Additionally, 27% of graduates experienced career progress through promotions or new opportunities. He said that the PGPMCI is a pioneering programme aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, offering students from the Centrally-funded institutions a unique and multi-institutional learning experience. Chief guest D. Shivakumar, Operating Partner at Advent International, who delivered the keynote address, urged students to define their self-worth independently and to resist the pressures of comparison.
