State-level U-16 tennis tournament to begin in Guntur on May 30
A State-level under-16 tennis tournament for boys and girls will be held at the B.R. Stadium tennis courts in Guntur from May 30 to June 1. Organised as part of the Guntur Open, the event aims to identify and nurture budding tennis talent in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Tournament director M. Nagendra, in a statement on Wednesday (May 28), said the competition would serve as a platform for young players to showcase their skills. Sponsored by S. Ramakrishna, chairperson of Santhi Nursing Home, the event offers cash prize to the winners.
Director of Anti-Corruption Bureau R. Jaya Lakshmi will inaugurate the tournament on May 30. Chief Conservator of Forests B.N.N. Murthy and Dr. Rama Krishna will be the guests of honour.
'Tennis has a great potential in the capital region, and events like this boost local talent,' said Dr. Ramakrishna, who is also a top seed in the ITF circuit. Stadium coach Sk.
