MVJ College of Engineering celebrates Founders' Day in Bengaluru
The MVJ College of Engineering, Bengaluru, commemorated Founders' Day on May 17, at its campus honoring its visionary founder Dr. M. V. Jayaraman.
The event commenced with a video tribute and a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.
The chief guest, Nandakumar K., CEO of Sundaram Industries and a distinguished alumnus, delivered a keynote address on leadership.
Mr. Nandakumar encouraged attendees to prioritise 'people and purpose' in their endeavours. He emphasised the importance of resilience, vision, and leadership in overcoming challenges, stating, 'You have to work within constraints and still not lose purpose.'
Dr. Ajayan K.R., Principal of the college, presented the annual report, highlighting advancements in research and innovation.
The event celebrated the institution's 43-year legacy of excellence since its establishment in 1982.
A key highlight of the event was the award ceremony, where 122 students were recognised for their outstanding achievements in academics, sports, and cultural activities. Additionally, 50 staff members were honoured for their contribution to academics, research, and long service.
A total of ₹5 lakh was awarded in cash prizes, with notable recognition including the Vinay Deepak Memorial and Amitesh Rahul awards.
