The Florida Panthers brought the heat to Edmonton during Game 5 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday night, seemingly causing one fan to literally swap jerseys during third period.
After Panthers winger Brad Marchand tallied his second goal of the game, the TNT game broadcast caught one fan taking off their Oilers jersey to reveal they were wearing a Panthers jersey underneath.
Was this just a Florida fan in disguise finally comfortable enough to reveal their true alliances? Was this a sad Edmonton fan finally bailing on his team and giving into Florida fandom once and for all? Was this just a fair-weather fan going with the momentum shift, prepared with both jerseys? We may never know!
However, we do know the fan eventually got to see their team (?) snag a 5-2 victory and go up 3-2 in the championship series.
We congratulate the Panthers on a job well done on the road, but we have no idea to congratulate this fan or not because we are just baffled by what we just watched.
