Man found dead on downtown Sacramento roadway
( — The Sacramento Police Department responded to a call about a man down in downtown Sacramento on Sunday morning.
Around 2:30 am, officers found a man on the roadway of the 500 Block of J Street who was pronounced dead on the scene by fire personnel.

Officials believe he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene before the police arrived.
Detectives from the Sacramento Police's Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) and Crime Scene Investigators have since taken over the incident.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim after the next of kin has been notified.

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Anonymous tips can also be submitted using the free 'P3 Tips' smartphone app.
