Dodgers Yoshinobu Yamamoto Announced Pitcher of the Month
The Los Angeles Dodgers are 21-10 through the first month of the season, and received strong contributions from their ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Before the start of the 2024 season, the Dodgers signed Yamamoto to the largest contract ever for a starting pitcher at 12 years/$325 million.
A year later, following a World Series title, Yamamoto continues to be a massive part of the Dodgers' winning ways. The 26-year-old from Japan has excelled thus far at the big-league level.

On Friday, MLB announced that Yamamoto is the National League Pitcher of the Month, and it's well-deserved.
Yoshinobu has gotten off to a torrid start to the 2025 season as he leads all MLB-qualified pitchers in ERA (1.06). Over 34 innings, he's given up just four earned runs and recorded 43 strikeouts.

The Dodgers now have a bona fide ace for years to come, and they will continue to lean heavily on Yamamoto as the season progresses. Los Angeles has notably dealt with injuries in the starting rotation to start the year. Both Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow are on the Injured List, and Yamamoto is being called on to control the rotation, and has done just that.

Yamamoto will look to continue his dominance in the first game of a three-game set with the Atlanta Braves after being announced as Pitcher of the Month. "Yoshi" has been a strong reason for the Dodgers' strong start to the season, considering he's the highest-paid pitcher in all of baseball, Los Angeles will continue to depend on him being a rock in the rotation.
