Forget Abs—Patrick Mahomes' Dad Bod is the talk of the NFL in 2025, and fans are loving it
In a league built on grit, grind, and six-pack abs, Patrick Mahomes is flipping the script—and fans can't stop talking about it. The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback recently went viral after photos of him rocking what's now affectionately dubbed a 'dad bod' hit social media. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now But instead of ridicule, the response was refreshingly supportive. As the NFL heads deeper into 2025, Mahomes may have just made body relatability the new symbol of strength. Is Patrick Mahomes changing the athlete body standard? The internet lit up after images from a casual family golf outing showed the 29-year-old Mahomes looking, well—normal. No chiseled abs, no peak off-season cut—just a relaxed, confident superstar embracing his physique. The viral post from MLFootball on X simply read, 'Mahomes goes viral for his offseason dad bod,' and it quickly gained momentum. But this isn't Mahomes' first dance with dad bod discourse. In early 2024, a shirtless clip from Inside the NFL caught him off-guard. Rather than shy away, Mahomes leaned in. 'Yoooo why they have to do me like that!?!?!?' he joked, proudly tagging it #DadBodSzn and adding, 'Like I got kids!!!' And it turns out, there might be a method to the midsection. After bulldozing into the end zone during a crucial October 2024 matchup against the 49ers, Mahomes credited the extra bulk: 'I was trying to absorb the hit. That dad bod, man, I just had enough weight on me,' he said with a laugh. Mahomes isn't alone: NFL stars are redefining what a champion's body looks like This embrace of a more attainable athletic build isn't unique to Mahomes. Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce, Josh Allen, and even NBA MVP Nikola Jokić have all challenged the 'perfect physique' stereotype. Instead of photo-ready abs, they're prioritizing performance, power, and staying real. Also Read: Fans have rallied behind the shift. 'He looks great. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Just like a regular guy dominating the league,' one user commented. Another wrote, 'That's the most relatable body in pro sports right now.' In 2025, the NFL still demands strength, speed, and smarts. But if Patrick Mahomes has anything to say about it, perfection might just look a little more like the rest of us.

Panthers' Hunter Renfrow Gets Candid About Struggling Seasons With Raiders
It's been a long few seasons leading to his return to the NFL for wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. The wide receiver, drafted out of Clemson after winning the national championship with the Tigers in 2018, has undergone one of the most inspiring comebacks in recent memory. Advertisement His breakout season in 2021 with the Las Vegas Raiders included 103 receptions, 1,038 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. After signing a two-year, $32 million extension with the Raiders in 2022, Renfrow began to struggle the following season. A concussion caused Renfrow to miss seven games in 2022, and he never quite regained the same success with the Raiders. While continuing to struggle and not finding very much playing time in 2023, Las Vegas decided to cut the now 29-year-old because of his declining performance and to save some money for free agency. He would then go under the radar, sitting out the entire 2024 season due to a medical condition, ulcerative colitis. Advertisement The condition led to the receiver losing a lot of weight, extreme fatigue and high fevers. "Last year, I fluctuated in weight; I went down to 150 pounds. I had like seven straight days of 103-degree fevers. It's tough to play when you're not feeling great," Renfrow said when he went public on why he missed the 2024 season. He talked about his struggles with the Raiders after his underperforming seasons as well. "I felt so bad those two years, and I felt like I let my teammates down so much. I was like, 'Man, I don't feel well, but I do not want to play football again. Like, I do not want to let people down," he mentioned, according to MLFootball on X. The veteran receiver would later sign with the Carolina Panthers after the 2025 NFL Draft and his story has begun to go viral. Advertisement It seems as if Hunter Renfrow is back in football shape and ready to take on a new chapter with the Panthers.
