100 trains, 12 platforms, airport-like facilities and...: New 'king' of railway network to be built in...., It's name is... The pace of development of Western Uttar Pradesh is happening at a lightening speed. A grand and ultra-modern railway station 'Greater Noida Terminal' is going to be built in Bodaki area of Gautam Buddha Nagar district, which will be the biggest railway terminal of western Uttar Pradesh till date. This will not be just a station, but a multimodal transport hub (MMTH) that will turn Greater Noida into India's smartest railway connection hub. The station, to be built on 176 hectares of land near Bodaki, will be an integral part of the MMTH project, with 46 hectares of land alone being used for the railway terminal. The station has been specifically designated as a 'mega terminal'. It will have 12 large platforms, which will handle around 100 trains every day, including high-speed trains like the Vande Bharat Express . The terminal has been designed as a complete transit experience , not just a place to catch a train. It will be built as a multi-level structure with train movement below and amenities like retail stores, office space and guest houses above. It will also have hi-tech features like state-of-the-art toilets, food court, waiting lounge and digitalised information system to give passengers an airport-like feel. The initial estimated cost of this mega project was around Rs 1,850 crore , but due to rising construction costs and expansion of facilities, its cost has now almost doubled. The built-up area of the station will be 70,000 square metres. There will also be 63 yard lines here, where maintenance and parking of trains will be done. This mega terminal is an important project of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). The terminal will also ensure direct metro and bus connectivity to Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi and other areas of NCR. It will include ISBT (Interstate Bus Terminal), local bus terminals and a metro station, connecting the entire region with a robust and integrated transit system. The project was declared a special railway project in December 2024, which has accelerated the land acquisition for it. According to officials, now only some land belonging to the railways is left to be acquired, which will be completed in two months under the Railway Act. Acquisition of other lands has already been completed.
