Luke Littler slams 'scum of the earth' as car window smashed during exhibition
Luke Littler has endured a rollercoaster week having secured top spot in the Premier League before having to deal with an unfortunate incident during an exhibition match in Norwich Darts wonderkid Luke Littler took aim at the 'absolute scum of the Earth' who left his car window smashed while he was on the oche. The 18-year-old was in action in Norwich for an exhibition. But it did not all quite go to plan for Littler as he returned to his car with the back window smashed in. Sharing the news on Instagram, he shared a picture of the car, alongside the caption: 'Just trying to do an exhibition in Norwich and this happens, absolute scum of the earth.' Littler was playing at the MODUS Sports exhibition, alongside the legendary Raymond van Barneveld and Luke Humphries. The incident rounded off what has been a rollercoaster week for Littler. Earlier this week, he had secured top spot in the Premier League on Night 15 in Aberdeen. Despite having already reached the semi-finals, he put on an absolute classic against Humphries and has now guaranteed himself as the first-placed playoff qualifier. He will be joined by Humphries and Gerwyn Price, the pair having also qualified. Meanwhile, Littler's participation at this year's World Cup was also confirmed, having announced he will join forces with Humphries. Taking to Instagram announcing his pairing, Littler wrote: "Dream team confirmed. Bring on the world cup in June @lukehumphries180." There was initially some doubt over Littler's participation in the competition having hinted that he would not play again in Germany until later in the year. But he allayed any fears that supporters may have had. He said: "No, no I was always [going to play]. Luke [Humphries] will want to go back-to-back and obviously I want to win it for the first time. Even though it's not a major, it's still playing for your country." Partner Humphries also gave his verdict and was sure Littler was going to be there. He said: "I saw Luke's post and I knew straight away that he didn't mean what he said. He probably forgot about the World Cup being in Germany. When I asked him about it he said: 'No, I'm definitely playing'. Of course he is. "No-one's going to turn down playing for England. You can never turn down playing for your country. I would never turn it down in a million years, no matter how tired I was, how ill I was. I'm putting on the England jersey, whether I'm dying or not." On the chance to finally be playing with Littler and not against him, Humphries added: "I feel like the fans are going to enjoy watching us both play together. The two best players in the world, a lot of pressure is going to be on our shoulders. I think everybody is expecting us to win it and no one's going to touch us." Luke Littler's car vandalised during exhibition event in Norwich as world champion fumes at 'scum of the earth'
Luke Littler has hit out at the 'scum of the earth' after his car was vandalised during a darts exhibition in Norwich. The 18-year-old world champion had been playing at Epic Studios as part of a MODUS Sports event when he discovered the rear windscreen of his black Mercedes had been shattered. Littler shared an image of the damage on Instagram on Saturday afternoon, writing: 'Just trying to do an exhibition in Norwich and this happens, absolute scum of the earth.' The vehicle in question appeared to be a black V-Class van. Littler, who has not yet passed his driving test and was therefore unlikely to have been the designated driver to and from Norwich, spoke earlier this year about wanting to buy a Mercedes A-Class following his World Championship triumph in January. 'I've always loved a Mercedes A-Class,' he said at the time. 'Just a small car... I don't know the different models. Just an A-Class.' The Norwich exhibition where Littler's car was vandalised was a two-day event, during which he beat England team-mate Luke Humphries. Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, Fallon Sherrock and Beau Greaves also took part. Littler had also defeated Humphries in Aberdeen on Thursday night to guarantee top spot in this season's Premier League table. He will now head to London's O2 Arena for the play-offs on May 29, looking to defend the title he won last year. Should he succeed, he would become only the third player to win back-to-back Premier League Darts crowns — following in the footsteps of Taylor and Michael van Gerwen. Next month, Littler and Humphries will go from being rivals to team-mates when they represent England at the World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt. The tournament, featuring 40 nations, takes place from June 12 to 15. Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price will represent Wales, while Gary Anderson and Peter Wright will team up for Scotland.
