Lil Nas X Hospitalized After Losing Control of Half of His Face

The 'Old Town Road' artist shared he is in the hospital after suffering from partial facial paralysis—though he's keeping his spirits up.
'When I smile, this is me doing a full smile,' Lil Nas said in an April 14 Instagram video, during which, sure enough, only the left half of his face lifts in a smile. He added amid laughter, 'It's like, what the f--k? Bro I can't even laugh right. Oh my god.'
He captioned the post, alongside a crying emoji, 'Soooo lost control of the right side of my face.'
The 26-year-old, then took to his Story to both shed more on and make light of the situation.
'I'm so cooked,' Lil Nas wrote over the video, in which he panned the camera from one side of his face to the other as he laughed. 'We normal over here, we get crazy over here.'

But as fans began to express their worries, the Grammy winner shared how he really wanted them to support him in this moment.
'Guys I am ok!!' he added in a subsequent Story. 'Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead!'
As he noted, 'Imma look funny for a lil bit but that's it.'
The 'MONTERO' artist's post was soon filled with well wishes from fans and peers alike. Among them was Niecy Nash, who not only shared some love with Lil Nas, but also some advice.
'Wishing you a speedy recovery,' the Selma actress wrote, '(this happened to my mom. Hot compress several times a day helps wonders).'
Taraji P. Henson added, alongside prayer hand emojis, 'Get well baby.'
Lil Nas is not the only musical artist to deal with facial paralysis, as shared in 2022 he had been diagnosed Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
"It is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis," he explained in an Instagram video at the time. "As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can't smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move."
The health challenge even caused the 'Baby' singer to cancel shows.
"This is pretty serious as you can see," he continued. "I wish this wasn't the case but obviously my body is telling me I have to slow down. I hope you guys understand and I'll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100 percent so I can do what I was born to do."
Thankfully, nine months later Justin shared with fans he'd regained full mobility in his face.
