Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.72%
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Wednesday. Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.59 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 1.46 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 1.12 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.1 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.19 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day. The Nifty Auto index closed 0.72 per cent up at 23700.1. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 129.55 points at 24813.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 410.19 points at 81596.63.
