Dubai: New mall opens in Al Khawaneej with latest Union Coop
Union Coop has officially inaugurated its latest project, 'Al Khawaneej Mall' in Al Khawaneej 2, Dubai. Spread over approximately 70,000 sqft, the new mall features a hypermarket, a diverse range of retail and service outlets, and outdoor parking spaces. This is part of government-backed Union Coop's ongoing expansion plan to serve key residential areas and vital locations across the emirate. At its core is the hypermarket that anchors the development, complemented by a mix of retail outlets, service centres, a nursery, and a petrol service station. The opening was attended by Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi, chairman and Mohamed Al Hashemi, CEO of Union Coop, and Thilal Bin Quraish Alfalasi, support sector CEO assistant, alongside dignitaries, employees, suppliers, strategic partners, and shoppers. Al Hashemi stated: 'The project is much more than just a shopping centre or a mall, but a thoughtfully designed social-retail space, which seeks to offer exceptional customer experience that aligns with state-of-art Dubai standards. The architectural style is flexible, family-centric and people-friendly.' Visitors can explore a diverse selection of brands, restaurants, cafés, a currency exchange, and a bank, all under one roof, thereby making Al Khawaneej Mall a comprehensive destination for shopping, dining, and daily services. Developed on commercial land in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE), the project underscores a strong synergy between cooperative and government sectors to elevate community living standards in the emirate.

Dubai, UAE: Retail Pioneer 'Union Coop' has announced its readiness to open two new branches in Dubai as part of its strategic expansion plan aimed at strengthening its presence across key areas of the city and serving a wider segment of residents. Mr. Mohamed Al Hashemi, CEO of Union Coop, revealed that the first branch is located in Al Khawaneej 2, on a commercial plot developed in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE). This branch aligns with government plans to provide integrated service facilities in newly developed residential communities. The total built-up area of this branch is 70,785.88 sq. ft. and will feature a hypermarket, nursery, various retail outlets, and 87 outdoor parking spaces. Mr. Al Hashemi confirmed that all construction work, as well as interior and exterior finishes, have been completed. Coordination is currently underway to finalize the handover process with relevant government authorities in preparation for the official opening. The second branch is located within the "Rukan Community" project in Wadi Al Safa 7, an innovative community and this branch will meet the needs of a diverse population from various nationalities and social groups. Covering 19,892 sq. ft. this branch will include a hypermarket, variety of retail shops, and parking spaces to ensure maximum convenience for visitors. He added that the branch is in its final stages ahead of the official launch. With the opening of the Rukan branch, Union Coop aims to serve a promising residential area located near several key communities. The CEO emphasized that Union Coop remains committed to executing its vision of achieving dominance in the retail sector across the UAE. The new branches have been designed with a modern and innovative approach to provide a unique and convenient shopping experience for residents, while ensuring that all essential products and services are readily accessible to surrounding neighborhoods. These will mark Union Coop's 29th and 30th branches, respectively.

Work on 1,050-unit Dubai villa development on track
Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE) has announced steady progress being made on the Al Khawaneej Villas complex within Al Khawaneej 2 development in Dubai. The Al Khawaneej Villas complex features 1,050 residences with a range of housing options tailored to citizens' needs, including single, twin, and townhouse villas for those eligible for housing loans from the MRHE. As a model neighbourhood, the project reflects Dubai's commitment to enhancing quality of life across all communities. According to MRHE, the Al Khawaneej 2 housing project features three modern residential models and a comprehensive range of community facilities, including a commercial and service centre, pedestrian and cycling tracks, a park, playgrounds, and a nursery. "These initiatives align with the emirate's economic and social agendas and the Dubai 2033 Plan, which are aimed at securing a stable and prosperous future for its citizens," said HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, after an inspection tour of the Al Khawaneej 2 area. During the inspection tour, he was briefed by Omar Hamad Abdullah Hamad Bu Shehab, the CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, on the Al Khawaneej Villas complex. Following the site visit, Sheikh Mohammed directed the authorities to complete the allocation and handover procedures for the residential units as per schedule, in line with approved regulations and requirements. The Dubai ruler emphasised that suitable housing for citizens remains high among the emirate's development priorities. These initiatives align with the emirate's economic and social agendas and the Dubai 2033 Plan, which are aimed at securing a stable and prosperous future for its citizens, he stated. He also reviewed key aspects of the project, including its emphasis on green and open spaces and seamless neighbourhood connectivity to enable safe, convenient mobility without relying on vehicles. Bu Shehab said the Establishment is implementing Sheikh Mohammed's directives to create integrated residential environments that meet citizens' needs for comfort and security. "MRHE is also developing future housing solutions in fully serviced communities, designed to meet global urban planning standards, he stated.
