So beautifully choreographed, nostalgic, and just so fitting with the lyrics. Props to MGK, the dancer, the choreographers, and Sam for directing & capturing this perfectly," wrote one user added: "This video is perfectly fitting for the title because what's more cliché than a choreographed scene in the RAIN?!"Not everyone was impressed, however. Marina Serves Transformative Looks in Her 'Butterfly' Music Video

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Marina Diamandis has evolved from her chrysalis to spread her wings toward another bright and brilliant pop record. Her latest single, 'BUTTERFLY,' introduces a new era and marks her first musical release since 2022. It also comes hot off the release of her literary debut, Eat The World: A Collection of Poems, which dropped last October. Known for her quick-witted lyrical prowess, the artist—who simply goes by the mononym MARINA these days—is back with another alt-pop gem that sees her inching toward greater heights. She's leaving anything that no longer serves her behind as she muses, 'To become a butterfly / Parts of me had to die / Spread my wings in the golden light / and I fly.' Along with the track came an Aerin Moreno-directed music video featuring several ultra-glamorous looks—including one with a bedazzled butterfly perched upon MARINA's signature dark hair. As it starts to take over our social feeds, the visual also premiered on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop, and on Paramount's billboards in New York's Times Square. 'My next record is very playful and has a character-led concept, but not in the same way as Electra Heart,' MARINA told Plastik magazine in January. 'I found it weighty to have to commit to character for 2 years, and that's not where I'm at now. This next era is very fun. It has a special energy.' As new music is on the horizon, MARINA's also headed on a festival circuit this year with appearances at Coachella, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, and Osheaga. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be marveling at all of her stunning looks in the 'BUTTERFLY' music video and memorizing the song's lyrics 'til further notice: You Might Also Like Here's What NOT to Wear to a Wedding Meet the Laziest, Easiest Acne Routine You'll Ever Try

Former MTV VJ Matt Pinfield Placed In Conservatorship After Debilitating Stroke

Nineties MTV mainstay Matt Pinfield has been placed under a temporary conservatorship after suffering a debilitating stroke earlier this month. According to court documents filed by Pinfield's daughter, Jessica Pinfield, and detailed by TMZ on Monday, the former radio host and onetime Columbia Records executive was left incapacitated by a Jan. 6 health emergency. Jessica Pinfield requested the legal right to manage her father's medical and fiscal affairs out of fear that his girlfriend plans to spend his money. Pinfield was a fixture on MTV during the height of the network's popularity, regularly appearing on 'Total Request Live' and 'MTV Live,' in addition to hosting the alternative music showcase, '120 Minutes,' and over 100 of the channel's specials. Following his time with MTV Pinfield returned to his radio roots, hosting shows for SiriusXM, LA-area FM station KLOS and Southern Californian public radio station KCSN. The music insider struck a positive tone in an Instagram post made the day of his reported stroke, which showed the former MTV VJ sitting before a camera in a vinyl record-filled room. In the caption, he wrote, 'Starting another week with gratitude for a life surrounded by great people, life changing music, and unforgettable experiences that I never take for granted. 'Here to another week-another day-open heart and open mind,' Pinfield's message continued. 'Let's rock!'
