‘Top priority': Township seeks to redevelop old Hara Arena site

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Nearly six years after the Memorial Day tornados devastated the area, Harrison Township leaders are still looking to redevelop the Hara Arena site. According to a post from Harrison Twp., the area of and around Hara Arena is a focus point for redevelopment this year. The township said it is working with multiple area organizations like the city of Trotwood and Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission to see how new life can be implemented in the specific area. 'With help from MVRPC, we've developed a vision for what this area could become — not a guaranteed plan, but a powerful tool to help us attract developers, draw in new businesses, and revitalize the heart of our township,' said the township. Commenters on the post provided ideas to the township of what they want to see, such as another entertainment venue, a fast-food chicken restaurant, golf course and walking trails.
