CM launches ₹28,084 crore industrial projects in Ganjam

1 2 Berhampur: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday launched 12 industrial projects worth ₹28,084 crore in Ganjam district, marking a significant boost to Odisha's industrial development. The projects are expected to generate over 15,455 jobs. During the groundbreaking ceremony at Onslow Stadium in Chatrapur, Majhi emphasized the state's commitment to sustainable development, particularly noting the timing of the announcement on World Environment Day. "This investment will catalyze Ganjam's economic growth and create substantial employment opportunities for our youth," said Majhi. Five major projects will be established in the Tata Steels Special Economic Zone (SEZ), while others will be distributed across Gopalpur, Chhatrapur, and Buguda. The projects span various sectors, including green hydrogen and ammonia production, LNG terminal, green energy equipment, multi-modal logistics, agro processing, and eco-resort development. Notable projects at the Gopalpur Industrial Park include HHP five's green hydrogen/ammonia production facility (Rs 4,000 crore), Ocior energy's similar facility (Rs 7,200 crore), and two solar manufacturing units by Saatvik Solar Industries (Rs 3,000 crore) and World Green Energy (Rs 2,500 crore). The expansion establishes the industrial park as one of India's largest green hydrogen hubs, with four dedicated facilities. Saatvik Solar Industries plans to set up a 4.8 GW integrated cell and 4 GW module manufacturing facility, while World Green Energy will develop a 2 GW cell and 1.2 GW module manufacturing unit. The CM highlighted that post-Utkarsh Odisha Make in Odisha conclave, projects worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore have been implemented within five months, creating 90,000 jobs. He also noted Gopalpur port's emerging role as a key gateway for the state's growth. The ceremony was attended by industries minister Sampad Kumar Swain, commerce minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, and other dignitaries. During his visit, the CM also unveiled 41 statues of eminent freedom fighters at the Government High School, Rambha and visited the MaaTara Devi Yatra at Lanjipalli. The projects align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Viksit Bharat Vision-2047 and aim to transform southern Odisha into a major industrial hub while maintaining environmental sustainability.
