FDA Issues Nationwide Recall on Mac and Cheese Snack Due to Possible Metal Contamination
The United States Food and Drug Administration has announced a recall of Feel Food Foods Mac & Cheese Bites.
The product was recalled because it may be contaminated with pieces of metal.
The recall is considered a Class II threat by the FDA, the second-most severe risk your freezer: The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of 4,246 cases of Mac & Cheese Bites. The frozen snack product may be contaminated with small pieces of metal.
On February 5, Feel Good Foods Inc., a New York-based company, issued a voluntary recall of its gluten-free Three Cheese Mac & Cheese Bites. The recalled product was sold at retailers nationwide, including Target, Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh, Wegmans, Sprouts, and regional grocery chains.
The recall was recently labeled a Class II threat, the second-most severe risk level. A Class II recall is "a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote," according to the FDA.
The recalled products were sold in 8-ounce boxes and have a UPC of 8-99039-00280-8, lot code of 24354AV1 or 24355AV1, and a best-by date of June 19, 2026, or June 20, 2026. A photo of the recalled product is available on the company's website.
If you have the recalled item in your freezer, do not consume it. Throw the product away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
