Temple SWAT Team Called to Residence
Temple, TX (FOX 44) – The Temple SWAT team was called to the 200 block of South 25th street due to an individual barricading themselves and to others in their home.
Around 2:53 Saturday afternoon, Temple Police conducted a felony warrant service for parole violation for a felony assault offence for 44-year-old Mathew MacMann. MacMann and the two individuals in the home refused to cooperate with police and instead barricaded themselves in the home. After police efforts to get the individuals to exit the residence the Temple SWAT Team was called to the scene.
SWAT Team negotiators made contact with MacMann and learned there was a canine inside the home prompting the call to Temple Animal Control who safely removed the canine. At around 6:26P.M., the two individuals exited the home leaving MacMann as the only person inside. SWAT then used chemical munitions and surveillance technology to search the residence. Upon the preliminary search, MacMann was not located, which lead officers to use a K9 to deepen the search. The K9 alerted offers to the attic and after surveillance tech was used, MacMann was found. MacMann was taken into custody around 9:57 P.M.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
