The Arizona Cardinals promised a banger for the 2025 NFL schedule release video and unlike last year, the Cardinals weren't late to the party. As all 32 NFL teams release their schedules on Wednesday, May 14, the Cardinals kept up with the arms race with an original song featuring linebacker Mack Wilson Sr., or Rocketship. The linebacker starred in the video with several of his teammates. The extensive list of other Cardinals players featured includes Isaiah Adams, Zaven Collins, Jaden Davis, Greg Dortch, Marvin Harrison Jr., Trishton Jackson, Paris Johnson Jr., Vi Jones, BJ Ojulari, Owen Pappoe, Dante Stills, Dadrion Taylor-Demerson and Michael Wilson. The music video didn't just remain in the studio as it combined footage of Wilson with teammates in the film room, on a plane and on the practice field. Each bar had a nod to the opponent for the week and there were several great lines, and it's hard to get the hook out of your head. 2025 Arizona Cardinals offseason roster profile: ILB Mack Wilson Sr. A look at LB Mack Wilson, what he did in 2024, his contract status and his outlook on the team for 2025. The Arizona Cardinals are in offseason mode and we are days away from free agency and weeks from the NFL draft. Leading up to the new league year, we will take a look at each player on the roster or signed to a reserve deal and break down where they stand with the team. We will look at their 2024 season, their contract status and what their status is for the coming offseason and 2025 season. Next up is linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. 2024 Mack Wilson Sr., stats, season The 27-year-old Wilson could be a star in the making. After starting only 18 games in his previous four seasons, Wilson started 16 in 2024 (he was inactive for one game because of a concussion) and his versatility showed in being on the field for 763 snaps (75 percent). Whether it was against the run or as a pass rusher, Wilson was productive. He was fourth on the team with 75 tackles (44 solo/four for loss), while contributing 3.0 sacks for 20 yards, two pressures, seven quarterback hits, one interception, one forced fumble and five passes defensed. 2025 contract status In the second year of a three-year contract signed as an unrestricted free agent in 2024, Wilson's base salary will be $3 million ($1 million guaranteed) and he carries a cap charge of $4.94 million. Outlook for 2025 In his second year in the defensive scheme and even with two new linebackers coaches, Wilson's role and production should be even bigger in the coming season. The offseason will be spent expanding his role and becoming even more comfortable in coordinator Nick Rallis' defense. Cardinals linebacker recruiting top pass rusher in uncertain offseason
The Arizona Cardinals badly need a top pass rusher off the edge. Linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. knows this after playing his first season with the team. He sees an opportunity for the Cardinals. The Las Vegas Raiders are undergoing changes. They fired head coach Antonio Pierce and have hired former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll to replace him. After years of losing, many speculate that defensive end Maxx Crosby could be looking to get out. That's where Wilson comes in. He recently reposted something Crosby had on social media, adding that Crosby would 'look good it Cardinal Red.' You'll look great in Cardinal Red.. IJS 🚀 — MWS 🚀 (@MackWilSr) January 25, 2025 Crosby could become available and the Cardinals would of course look into it. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl four consecutive seasons. He had 7.5 sacks in 12 games last season and 34.5 sacks over his last three seasons. He is 27 years old. He has two years remaining on his contract and is due to make more than $22.2 million in 2025 and then more than $18.8 million in 2026, although he has no guaranteed money remaining on his deal. With more than $70 million in cap space this offseason, the Cardinals can make this move. We will see if Crosby actually becomes available and whether the Cardinals will be players in trying to acquire him.
