Anwar to close 3-day Madani event in Tawau today
TAWAU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will close the three-day Madani rakyat programme at Dataran Majlis Perbandaran Tawau here today.
He is also scheduled to officiate at the handover ceremony for the completed Tamu Desa Sabah project, present the Sabah Entrepreneur Excellence Awards, and launch the Madani Solar Programme as part of the 2025 Madani Aidilfitri Tour.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is also expected to be present.
Yesterday, Sabah PKR chief Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said Anwar and Hajiji would discuss the possible collaboration between Pakatan Harapan (PH), Barisan Nasional (BN) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the 17th state election, which must be held by December.
Hajiji had said GRS was ready go solo after PH-BN stated their intention to work together in the election.
Anwar was welcomed by Hajiji and his state cabinet at Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 10.45am today.
The prime minister then proceeded to make a courtesy call on Sabah Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu before flying to Tawau.
