Easter sunrise service open to community at Centenary College
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – An Easter sunrise service will be held by Centenary College with a performance by the 'Centenary College Choir and Friends.'
Severe thunderstorms are possible over Easter weekend
The liturgy will be led by Rev. Maddie Russo, Centenary College's chaplain and director of Christian Leadership, and Rev. Megan Stuermann of Noel United Methodist Church.
'The program will recount the final days of Jesus' passion and will usher in the celebration of the resurrection as the morning sun rises,' a press release stated. 'The Easter sunrise service is one of the oldest traditions of the Centenary Choir, dating back to the 1950s.'
The service will take place on Sunday, April 20, at 6 a.m. at Hargrove Memorial Ampitheatre, known as 'The Shell' on Centenary's campus. It is free and open to the public.
