Brookfield softball rallies to earn third win in four outings
NEWTON FALLS, Ohio (WKBN) – After trailing 4-0 entering the third inning, Brookfield outscored Newton Falls, 13-1, throughout the rest of the game to post a 13-5 victory.
The Warriors' top four batters in the lineup finished 9 for 18 and scored 6 runs while driving in 7 more.
Mya Jumper had three singles, while Elaina Boyce and Grace Teal each had two singles, and Madison Obermiyer belted a pair of triples to finish with 3 RBIs.
Obermiyer also went the distance in the circle by pitching seven innings, allowing 3 earned runs and striking out 11 batters.
Brookfield has now won three of their last four outings. The Warriors will look to continue it on Monday when they visit Campbell.
The Tigers' leadoff hitter Kirra Howard came in big with 3 hits, including a triple, and scored 3 runs. Kylee Lance doubled and singled to close out her afternoon, 2 for 4. Hanna Wright tripled as well.
Newton Falls will travel to Middlefield to take on Cardinal on Monday.
