Kate Middleton Embraces Nautical Style Inspiration in Suzannah London Coatdress for Naming Ceremony With Prince William in Glasgow

Kate Middleton made her latest public appearance of 2025 during a trip to Glasgow, Scotland, on Thursday. The Princess of Wales, known in Scotland as the Duchess of Rothesay, was joined by her husband of 14 years Prince William for the naming ceremony for HMS Glasgow. For the occasion, Middleton opted for nautical inspiration — an appropriate and thematic choice for the occasion. The Princess of Wales wore a coatdress in navy with white accents around the collar, front placket and waist pockets courtesy of Suzannah London. Middleton continued with her nautical inspiration, styling accessories that complemented her Suzannah London coatdress. The British royal family member wore a saucer hat courtesy of Philip Treacy, whose millinery work the royal wore before. As for her heels, Middleton opted for a neutral design by Gianvito Rossi in suede. The royal further accessorized with a clutch courtesy of Emmy London. She also gave a nod to the late Princess Diana with her sapphire and diamond earrings. The Prince and Princess of Wales' trip to Scotland comes only a few days after the couple attended a Buckingham Palace garden party on Monday. At the springtime event, Middleton went back into her royal wardrobe to rewear one of her most famous frocks. The Princess of Wales opted for a butter yellow dress courtesy of Emilia Wickstead, with a coordinated fascinator by Philip Treacy. The last time Middleton wore the dress was back in June 2022 for the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. At the time, Middleton's look was the top-searched style according to data from fashion e-commerce aggregator Lovethesales analyst Hussain Ul-Haq. Royal rewears are a signature part of Middleton's style. The Princess of Wales has reworn pieces from wardrobe from McQueen, Jenny Packham, Zara and more over the course of the last 14 years as a senior member of the British royal family.
