And I am of the opinion: I am the right HSV president for the next few years," Magath told Welt and Bild TV. They won the Bundesliga 1979, 1982 and 1983, the European Cup Winners' Cup 1977, and the Champions Cup in 1983, with Magath scoring the winner in the final against Juventus. Euro 1980 winner Magath was also Hamburg coach 1995-1997, and in later years won back-to-back Bundesliga and German Cup doubles with Bayern Munich 2005 and 2006, and the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg in 2009.
