The total Quota intake is 2,25,514 seats. This brings the overall intake capacity to 21,23,040 seats. The FYCJ 2025-2026 admissions are being conducted for more than 21 lakh students across 9,435 colleges, covering streams such as Arts, Science and Commerce. The provisional merit list was released on June 6, 2025 and the round 1 registration process ended on June 5, 2025 at 2 PM.

Students can now login with their credentials and download the merit list on the official website, More than 12 lakh students had registered for in round 1 FYCJ admissions. As per the official notice by the School Education department, students who have registered online for the said admission process and have locked Part 1 of the admission application but Part 2 is yet to be filled or locked, such students will be provided with the facility to fill Part 2 of their application from 12:15 PM on June 6, 2025 to 12:30 PM on June 7, 2025. Students can visit the official website of the School Education and Sports Department to stay updated and also, they can check the live dashboard on the website, stating the number of applications accepted, registered and the overall intake capacity.

The Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department has officially resumed the online admission process for First Year Junior College (FYJC) 2025. Students who have completed their Class 10 examinations can register and apply through the official portal until June 3. As per a report by NDTV, the FYJC admission drive will cover a massive 20.88 lakh seats across 9,337 junior colleges in the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams. This includes 18,74,935 seats under the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and an additional 2,13,355 seats under various quotas. The final merit list will be released on June 8, 2025. The Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department will begin the online registration and choice-filling process for First-Year Junior College (FYJC) or Class 11 admissions for the academic year 2025–26 from May 26. Students and parents can apply through the official portal — Earlier, the department had temporarily suspended the application process due to technical issues on the first day. With the portal now updated and mobile-compatible, applications will resume as per the revised schedule. –Application start date: May 26, 2025 –Last date to register and fill preferences: June 3, 2025 –Provisional general merit list: June 5, 2025 –Objection window for merit list: June 6 to 7, 2025 –Final general merit list: June 8, 2025 –Zero round for quota-based admissions (minority, in-house, management): June 9 to 11, 2025 –First junior college allotment list: June 10, 2025 –Document submission and admission confirmation in colleges: June 11 to 18, 2025 This year, for the first time, the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is being implemented across Maharashtra. This means students from any region can now apply to junior colleges throughout the state using a single, unified online platform. The information booklet published by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education regarding the class 11 centralised online admission process says, 'Students who have passed std. 10th from secondary school (within same premises) of the same management who run Junior Colleges are eligible for Inhouse quota admission in those Jr. Colleges.' Inhouse quota in junior colleges will only be available to students of schools run by the same management that are located on the 'same premises', states new guidelines for class 11 or First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions by the State Directorate of Education. The admission process accommodates approximately 20 lakh seats across the state, with 8.52 lakh seats allocated to the Science stream, 5.40 lakh seats to Commerce, and 6.50 lakh seats to Arts. To improve accessibility, the official portal was briefly taken offline to enable mobile compatibility, ensuring a smoother application process for students. Additionally, the government introduced a dedicated helpline number and email ID to assist with CAP-related queries, providing further support to applicants. Meanwhile, earlier this month, the Maharashtra SSC Class 10 results for 2025 was announced. This year, students secured an overall pass percentage of 94.10. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) conducted the exams between February 21 and March 17, 2025. A total of 16,11,610 students registered for the exams, including 8,64,120 boys, 7,47,471 girls, and 19 transgender students. The pass percentage for girls stands at 96.14%, while for boys, it is 92.31%.
