Government committed to well-being of children with special needs: Tirupati MLA
Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu announced that the alliance government is committed to the well-being of children with special needs and will take do everything to meet their requirements.
He was speaking after distributing kits to the children with special needs, along with the district Collector S. Venkateswar, at the Mahatma Gandhi Municipal Corporation High School, here on Monday.
'There are 3,600 identified children with special needs in Tirupati district. We have 34 'Bhavitha' schools in the district, with one in each mandal, where the children will be specially trained and provided education,' the MLA said.
'421 students received tricycles, hearing aids, Braille kits, rollators and wheelchairs today,' the Collector said, adding that the remaining equipment would be handed over to them soon. The transportation grants for the children have been hiked from ₹3000 to ₹6000 per month. Similarly, the amount for children who require escorts for transportation needs has also been hiked.
