Prez likely to open UP's 1st Ayush University in Gorakhpur on June 30
Gorakhpur: President Droupadi Murmu is likely to inaugurate the state's first Ayush University on June 30.
Named after Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath, the university stands as a testament to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision for holistic healthcare and integrated medical education.
The foundation stone for the Rs267.5 crore-project was laid on Aug 28, 2021, by then President Ram Nath Kovind. Now, with its grand opening expected to be graced by the current President, Gorakhpur will become the only city in the state to have a university both inaugurated and founded by the Presidents of India.
Official sources said that the campus, spread across 52 acres in Pipri, Bhatat, is over 95% complete and final touches on academic blocks, hospital wings, and hostels are underway, with a deadline of 10 days set for completion.
During her proposed visit, Murmu may also inaugurate an auditorium and lay the foundation stone for a stadium at Mahayogi Gorakhnath University. She is also likely to attend the convocation ceremony of AIIMS Gorakhpur's first UG batch. tnn
