Palm Springs fertility clinic bomber documented plans in chilling online posts before attack
Authorities have identified the perpetrator behind the weekend bombing at a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, as a 26-year-old suspect motivated by a fringe ideology known as "pro-mortalism." "Pro-mortalism," a radical offshoot of anti-natalism, views human reproduction as inherently immoral and embraces death as a moral corrective. According to federal and local law enforcement, the suspect targeted the American Reproductive Centers facility specifically to destroy human embryos stored on-site. Surveillance footage and online postings suggest he parked in the rear of the building to remain unnoticed, ingested drugs, and then detonated an explosive device – killing himself in the process. The FBI has classified the bombing as an act of domestic terrorism, citing the ideological motivation behind the violence that killed the suspect and injured four others. Palm Springs Bombing Suspect Identified Read On The Fox News App On its Facebook page, American Reproductive Centers wrote that all embryos "are safe." "I received a call saying there was a massive explosion that destroyed a couple of our buildings. My biggest concern was obviously my staff and the embryos we have in storage," said Dr. Maher Abdallah, the clinic's director. "Fortunately for us, our staff was unharmed and the IVF lab is intact, untouched, unharmed. The embryos are safe." Retired NYPD investigator and Fox News contributor Paul Mauro, through his publication Ops Desk, exclusively uncovered a disturbing trail of digital breadcrumbs left by the suspect, who had posted videos documenting his experiments with homemade explosives. The videos, posted on his YouTube channel but now taken down, captured the alleged suspect testing explosives in the desert as well as what appeared to be a garage. WATCH: The Ops Desk also revealed that he left behind a suicide note on an online forum populated by like-minded extremists. "I have made a 'device' that, once triggered, will activate after one hour and will ensure I never wake up again," he wrote. Fbi, Dhs Warn Of Possible Copycat Attacks After Nola Isis-inspired Vehicle Attack Officials have said that it is the first high-profile case linked to the pro-mortalist ideology and are now monitoring it as a potential emerging threat. Authorities have urged families and communities to remain vigilant for signs of ideological extremism, especially among those who may feel disenfranchised. AP Photo/Eric Thayer What To Know ARC has now responded to the bombing, calling it a "unexpected and tragic incident." Dr. Maher Abdallah, who runs the ARC facility, said all his staff were safe and that the blast had not harmed the IVF fertilization lab where embryos are stored. "I really have no clue what happened," Abdallah told The Associated Press. "Thank God today happened to be a day that we have no patients." In a Facebook statement, the ARC expressed gratitude to police and emergency services and added that the facility would be fully operational on Monday. Part of the statement read: "At ARC, we believe in creating life—not just in the biological sense, but in the emotional and spiritual sense, too. We see this moment as a reminder to hold loved ones close, to show kindness whenever possible, and to continue our work with even more intention and heart. "From adversity, we choose hope. ARC will be fully operational on Monday morning, and our team is here to answer any concerns you may have. We appreciate the incredible support from our patients and local community, as well as the swift action of Palm Springs Police, Fire, and emergency responders." Bill Essayli, U.S. attorney of the Central District of California said on X, formerly Twitter: "We are aware of the explosion that occurred this morning in Palm Springs. FBI is on scene and will be investigating whether this was an intentional act. We will release as much information as possible once we are able to confirm details." Attorney General Pam Bondi on X: "I have been briefed on the explosion at a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California that took place today. Federal agents are on the ground now responding alongside local law enforcement. We are working to learn more, but let me be clear: the Trump administration understands that women and mothers are the heartbeat of America. Violence against a fertility clinic is unforgivable." California Gavin Newsom wrote in a post on X: "I've been briefed on the explosion near a fertility clinic in Palm Springs. Jen and I are keeping everyone affected in our hearts. The state is working closely with local and federal authorities as the investigation unfolds. Please avoid the area." What Happens Next Authorities are still investigating the attack.

The explosion damaged the practice's office space, where it conducts consultations with patients, but left the IVF lab and all of the stored embryos there unharmed. 'I really have no clue what happened,' Abdallah said. 'Thank God today happened to be a day that we have no patients.' Aerial footage showed a burned-out car in a parking lot behind the building that housed the fertility clinic's office space. The blast caved in the building's roof and blew a wide debris field across a sidewalk and four lanes of the street on the other side of the structure. Rhino Williams, 47, was chatting with customers at a restaurant he helps manage inside the Skylark Hotel just over a block away from the scene when he heard a huge boom. Everything rattled, he said, and Williams — who has a background in aviation _ immediately sprinted to the scene to see if anyone was in need of help, thinking a helicopter might have crashed. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. Williams saw a large dark gray plume of smoke and covered his nose with his shirt as he smelled burning plastic and rubber. He said he saw a building had 'blown out' into the street, with bricks scattered everywhere, and spotted a car's axle on fire in the building's parking lot. He said it was the only car in the lot that he saw. He ran into the building, calling out and peering behind the counter to see if anyone was inside. He did not hear a response and did not see anyone behind the counter. Williams said he ran around to check on other nearby buildings. Multiple windows of the neighboring liquor store were also blown out, he said. Once he saw authorities arrive, he headed back to the hotel. Nima Tabrizi, 37, of Santa Monica, said he was inside a cannabis dispensary nearby when he felt a massive explosion. 'The building just shook, and we go outside and there's massive cloud smoke,' Tabrizi said. 'Crazy explosion. It felt like a bomb went off. … We went up to the scene, and we saw human remains.'
