UPDATED: At least 71 killed - Israeli army carries out multiple massacres across Gaza - War on Gaza
Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday killed at least 71 Palestinians, including 54 who were killed while waiting for humanitarian aid, medical sources cited by Al Jazeera said. Mahmud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza's civil defence, told AFP: 'Israeli occupation forces targeted gatherings of citizens waiting for aid... with bullets and tank shells.' He added that at least 150 people were wounded. Gaza's health ministry said on Monday that the death toll in the Strip had risen to 55,998, the majority of them children and women, since Israel's genocidal campaign began on 7 October 2023.
