East Bay company launches anti-Trump coffee with ‘Resistance' blend
(KRON) — Four days after the Presidential Election in November, Jay Maille turned 70. He is a father of a daughter and a grandfather to a granddaughter — hoping for a better future in America. The Pleasanton resident started a coffee company to make a statement against President Donald Trump.
'Grounds for Impeachment Coffee' launched last month on Inauguration Day. The online coffee retailer currently sells two blends at the moment named 'Resistance' and 'Opposition.' The former's name is inspired by what Maille views is needed during this Trump presidency.
'There is power and joy in meaningful resistance even if it's small acts of resistance can add up to something big,' Maille told KRON4. 'I'm just trying to fan the flames of that with like-minded people who are afraid with what is happening with this country.'

'I want people to wake up, smell the coffee and not feel helpless,' Maille said. 'A lot of people are feeling helpless with what is happening now. They are just blown away.'
Each customer is allowed to choose which charitable cause they want to support, which includes ones like Planned Parenthood and ACLU. One dollar of each bag purchased will go to one of these causes, Maille said.
Maille added there is a particularly large amount of women supporting his product. He says the support of his company has been overwhelmingly supportive. However, as he expected, there's going to be a small segment that has said a lot of bad things about 'Grounds for Impeachment,' according to Maille.
The 'Resistance' and 'Opposition' blends start at $18.
