And to add an extra dose of star power, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has now joined as the team's owner. Yes, you are reading right. Even the actor himself announced on his social media. Salman Khan took to his Instagram handle and wrote, 'Excited to begin this street to stadium cricket journey with ISPL." As soon as he announced, fans reacted. Many dropped clapping and smile emojis. One of the fans wrote, 'Love you bhaijaan." Known for promoting grassroots-level cricket in an indoor tennis-ball format, ISPL is India's first-ever street cricket league aiming to discover and nurture raw talent from across the country. With the inclusion of the New Delhi franchise, the league now broadens its reach and fanbase in the national capital. Salman Khan said, 'Cricket is a heartbeat that echoes through every street in India and when that energy reaches the stadium, leagues like ISPL are born. I have always been passionate about the game and I'm thrilled to join ISPL as this unique league not only promotes grassroots cricket in India but also empowers talented players by providing them with a valuable platform. This is just the beginning — as Season 3 unfolds, fans will get to know more about the team and build a deeper connection." ISPL introduces a new franchise from New Delhi following the massive success of Season 2, which shattered viewership records with 28 million reach and 47% growth on television Season 2 drew a record-breaking 28 million+ television viewers and marked a 47% growth in TV viewership over its inaugural edition, cementing ISPL's place as India's biggest sports and music carnival. Season 2 concluded with Majhi Mumbai lifting the trophy. The tournament spotlighted rising stars like Abhishek Dalhor, Sagar Ali, Rajat Mundhe, Ketan Mhatre, Jagannath Sarkar, and Fardeen Kazi. Among them, Dalhor's standout performance across two seasons earned him a spot as a net bowler with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL—underscoring ISPL's core promise of turning street cricketers into tomorrow's professionals. On the work front, Salman Khan was last seen in Sikandar with Rashmika Mandanna. He has not announced his next but rumours are going on that he has prepping for Aproova Lakhia's next.
