The WNBA officially recognized Sabrina Ionescu's latest career milestone on Friday, celebrating her as the fastest player in league history to reach 400 made three-pointers. The achievement came during the New York Liberty's 86–78 win over the Washington Mystics on Thursday night.

According to league communications, Ionescu accomplished the feat in just 151 games — cementing her place in the record books and surpassing Crystal Robinson as the Liberty's all-time leader in 3s made. Even more impressive, she reached the mark on a night where her shot wasn't falling, going just 3-of-17 from the field.
Despite the shooting woes, Ionescu's long-range presence helped propel New York to its eighth straight win and best start in franchise history. The 8–0 Liberty now join the Minnesota Lynx as the only two teams to open the season with such a streak—something that hasn't happened in the WNBA since 2016.

The win didn't come easily. Jonquel Jones exited early with an ankle injury, and it was Breanna Stewart who carried the load, delivering a dominant 26-point, 11-rebound performance. Meanwhile, reserves like Kennedy Burke (12 points on 4-of-4 from three) and Isabelle Harrison (seven points, five rebounds, two steals) rose to the occasion.
Even with Washington clawing back in the final stretch, Ionescu and Stewart's late free throws helped the Liberty close it out. The performance capped off a night of balance, history, and growing momentum for a team with championship aspirations — and for a sharpshooter rewriting what's possible behind the arc.
