Hyundai Invests in Sustainability, Community, and Health in Coastal Georgia
Hyundai continues partnerships with Ducks Unlimited, Make-A-Wish Georgia, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire SAVANNAH, Ga., May 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai recently supported several nonprofit organizations in Coastal Georgia working in sustainability, community, and health as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Hyundai Hope. Ducks Unlimited received a donation to supplement its work in wetlands and waterfowl conservation. Make-A-Wish Georgia received a donation towards the life-changing wishes it grants to children facing critical illness. Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire received a donation to continue its profound work in providing a home away from home for families of seriously ill and injured children. The area is home to Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), Hyundai Motor Group's first dedicated electric vehicle mass-production plant in Bryan County, Georgia. Hyundai partnered with Ducks Unlimited last year, and since then has donated $25,000 towards its conservation efforts in the Coastal Georgia region. Ducks Unlimited is the world's largest private wetlands and waterfowl conservation organization—conserving, restoring, and managing wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. This year's donation will be for its Southeast Wetlands Initiative in Georgia. Hyundai has partnered with Make-A-Wish Georgia since 2023, cumulatively donating $30,000 towards its mission to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Making these wishes come true helps bring strength, hope, and transformation for the wish child, their family, and the community. Two large automobile makers give back to Savannah community
SAVANNAH, Ga (WSAV) – Two major car makers are giving back in a big way. Hyundai and Genesis are donating over $200,000 to support children and families across the Hostess City. For the next two days, Hyundai and Genesis top officials nationwide will help spread care, one dollar at a time. It's all about making a difference in the lives of Savannah's youngest residents. Hyundai will present a $150,000 donation to the Children's Hospital of Savannah. That will support both child passenger safety programs and pediatric cancer research. $50,000 of that will go toward teaching families how to properly install car seats. The remaining money from Hyundai Hope on Wheels will fund vital support for kids battling cancer. Later this afternoon, Genesis will present a $50,000 grant to the Deep Center, helping to expand youth arts education programs. The events kick off Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Children's Hospital of wrap up tomorrow afternoon with a $15,000 donation made towards Make-A-Wish Georgia. Leopold's Ice Cream teams up with Make-A-Wish to grant dreams
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A local ice cream shop is scooping up kindness to help make dreams come Ice Cream in Savannah is teaming up with Make-A-Wish Georgia to honor a special young boy and his incredible journey. A special campaign will begin Tuesday at Leopold's. The sweet story behind this fundraiser is as uplifting as the new flavor being unveiled… and a portion of the proceeds will help Make-A-Wish. Leopold's Ice Cream, a Savannah staple for over 100 years, is teaming up with Make-A-Wish Georgia starting today. For the month of April, they will continue with a special campaign. The effort honors Sun, a child here in the Coastal Empire and son of a Leopold's team member. Sun's wish to visit Hawaii was recently granted. To celebrate- Leopold's is creating a limited-time flavor: Pinango Banapple. This flavor is a tropical blend of pineapple, mango, banana, and apple. A portion of proceeds will go to Make-A -Wish Georgia. From April 1 to 30… Every scoop sold helps grant wishes for children facing critical illnesses.
