Kid Rock's Nashville Restaurant Closed to Avoid Weekend ICE Raids by Trump Administration
Kid Rock's restaurant reportedly closed over the weekend to avoid ICE's raids in Nashville. Immigrant employees either did not show up for work or were told to go home, to avoid being detained by ICE. ICE arrested 196 people in the city raid — less than half of whom have prior criminal Rock's Nashville restaurant halted service amid fears that it would be raided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Saturday, May 10. The Nashville-based musician, a longtime supporter of Donald Trump, reportedly had the doors of his namesake restaurant — Kid Rock's Big A** Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse — closed, per Nashville Scene. The move came after employees without U.S. work authorization did not show up for work on Saturday, and those who did show were told to go home in order to avoid ICE detention. The singer has a long history with Trump himself. Kid Rock visited Trump in the White House in 2017, golfed with Trump (while wearing American flag pants) in 2019 and recently performed at the president's Make America Great Again Victory Rally to celebrate Inauguration Day. Kid Rock's restaurant, as well as two others in Nashville that were also shut down over the weekend, are owned by Steve Smith — a conservative restaurateur and Trump supporter, the outlet reported. Officials from the immigration agency were present in Nashville on Saturday, joining forces with Tennessee Highway Patrol to intercept immigrants lacking permanent legal status, ICE revealed on May 13. The presence was part of "a weeklong targeted enforcement operation," per ICE's news release, and allegedly sought to remove immigrants "who pose a threat to public safety." According to ICE's data, less than half of the detainees had prior criminal records. A total of 196 people were arrested, the news release stated. Due to the extensive ICE presence, many employees who are immigrants opted to call out of work, so as not to be detained while traveling to or from work. 'We were already understaffed because of the ICE raids throughout the weekend,' an employee of one of the three restaurants, who asked to remain anonymous, told Nashville Scene. "Then, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, our manager came back and told anyone without legal status to go home." The source added the restaurant grew "crazy busy, but there was no one in the kitchen to cook the food." Read the original article on People

Trump plans to hit movies made outside US with 100% tariffs, Money News
President Donald Trump is planning to hit movies made outside the US with 100 per cent tariffs. Since being re-elected in January, Trump has placed a number of hefty trade tariffs on countries across the globe. Now, he's authorised the US Department of Commerce and Trade Representative to sanction foreign movies to rebuild Hollywood, which he said is dying "a very fast death". The world leader claims other countries are offering "all sorts of incentives" to productions to film outside of America, and branded it a "national security threat". Trump said on his Truth Social platform on Sunday (May 4): "The Movie Industry in America is dying a very fast death. Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States. Hollywood, and many other areas within the USA are being devastated. "This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat. It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda! "Therefore, I am authorising the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100 per cent Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands. We want movies made in America, again! (sic)" The tariffs come after Trump unveiled actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone as "special envoys" in a bid to get Hollywood "back on track". He said on stage at his 'Make America Great Again Victory Rally' in Washington DC earlier this year: "Also with us tonight is a great actor, tremendously talented guy, Jon Voight, who's great, and a friend mine. "And Sylvester Stallone is here — great guy. And you know I got Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone, and Jon Voight to become ambassadors to Hollywood, Calif., to put it back on track. So they're all ambassadors. You have to refer to them as ambassadors, 'Mr. Ambassador.'" Trump announced the Hollywood trio would get a place in his administration on Truth Social the week before. He wrote: "It is my honour to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California. "They will serve as special envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to foreign countries, back — bigger, better, and stronger than ever before! "These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!(sic)" Braveheart star Mel — who lost his Malibu home to the wildfires in Los Angeles — admitted he hadn't been aware of the position until Trump made the announcement but he would "heed the call". He said in a statement: "I got the tweet at the same time as all of you and was just as surprised. Nevertheless, I heed the call. "My duty as a citizen is to give any help and insight I can. Any chance the position comes with an ambassador's residence?" And Megalopolis star Jon praised Trump's decision. He told entertainment Weekly: "I'm old enough to have touched some years of the Golden Age of Hollywood, and I've seen its slow deterioration since. Today, we are in pretty bad shape. "Very few films are made here now, but we are fortunate to have an incoming President, who wants to restore Hollywood to its former glory, and with his help, I feel we can get done." [[nid:717541]]

Kid Rock snaps at Nashville bar crowd, abruptly walks off stage
Kid Rock was not pleased with the crowd at Jon Bon Jovi's Nashville bar on Saturday night. The musician attended the venue to celebrate Bon Jovi rocker David Bryan's birthday. On Feb. 8, Kid Rock walked off the stage in the middle of his performance after noting the crowd was not clapping along to his liking. Kid Rock was met with applause when he first got on stage and then began singing "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival, per a video a fan shared to TikTok. The performance was off to a good start before he stopped the song to ask the crowd to clap along. "F--- them. F--- them. Hey, hey, stop. If you ain't gonna clap, we ain't gonna sing. That's how it's gonna go," Kid Rock said in the video. He even demonstrated the pace he wanted the crowd to be clapping. "You know what, f--- y'all. You ain't gonna clap, I'm gone." The crowd began to clap, and Kid Rock continued to sing. About a minute later, the musician stopped singing and said, "You know what, f--- y'all. You ain't gonna clap, I'm gone" and stormed off the stage. Bryan was seen looking confused and talking to another bandmate while the star made a dramatic exit. Kid Rock's representative did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. Despite Kid Rock's exit, Bryan appeared to have a good birthday at Bon Jovi's bar. On Sunday, he took to Instagram to share a video of his performance with the caption, "THANK YOU FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES! Rocking at @jbjsnash last night with @bigkennytv!" Kid Rock's last performance was at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally, which celebrated President Donald Trump's Inauguration. Billy Ray Cyrus and Lee Greenwood also performed at the rally. Kid Rock, who has been a longtime supporter of Trump, also performed on the final night of the Republican National Convention in July. For the convention, the rocker redid his 2000 song "American Bad A--" to include references to Trump. He began his performance by asking the audience to stand and raise a fist before leading it in chants of "Fight, fight!" and "Trump, Trump!" He finished his performance by saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for the most patriotic American bada-- on earth, President Donald J. Trump." Kid Rock then introduced UFC CEO and President Dana White, who spoke immediately before Trump gave his speech. During his own speech, Trump spoke about Kid Rock, saying the rocker had called him and asked him if he could be involved with the convention. "He became a friend of mine over the last ten years, and he's amazing," Trump said. "Everyone loves him. I didn't even know how big he was."
