Sharmin Segal, who was all over the news last year for the portrayal of Alamzeb in uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, is reportedly pregnant with her first child. Sharmin, who was quite active on Instagram until June last year, has not posted anything after June 27. Her last post was from her holiday to a unknown location. The news of her pregnancy was shared by journalist Vickey Lalwani on social media. Sharmin, who marked her Bollywood debut with the 2019 film Malaal, later appeared in the 2022 film Atithi Bhooto Bhava, followed by Heeramandi. While, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's series garnered attention for its larger-than-life sets and customised costumes depicting the lifestyle of courtesans, it equally attracted criticism for Sharmin's performance, with some even targeting and trolling the actress. The series also starred actors Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Fardeen Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Richa Chadha, among others. Sharmin had addressed the trolling but chose to look at the silver lining. 'I had given my all to Alamzeb's character. We tend to fixate on the negatives but there are so many positives that have also come along, which we don't talk about. It's perhaps not interesting enough to talk about positives and we tend to look over them to some degree,' she had said. Sharmin Segal married the executive director of Torrent Pharmaceuticals in 2023 amid the filming of Heeramandi. The couple is now expecting their first child. The actress and her family are yet to confirm the news. The actress settled in Ahmedabad after marrying Aman. However, it is reported that Sharmin is currently in Mumbai for her delivery. Before, getting into acting, Sharmin was assisting his uncle Sanjay in several of his films.
