Malaysia Midnight Sale Carnival Draws Record Crowds, Boosts Melaka's Economy
The Malaysia Midnight Sale Carnival returned over the long weekend, drawing record-breaking crowds to Mahkota Parade, Melaka, and boosting both tourism and the local economy.
Held alongside the Melaka Bila Larut Malam – May edition 2025, the carnival offered a lively mix of shopping, entertainment, and cultural showcases. The event attracted both domestic tourists and visitors from Singapore and Indonesia, contributing to high hotel occupancy rates and benefiting local businesses, including vendors, restaurants, and ride-hailing services.
The carnival, which ran from 10 am to midnight, featured a Special Sale Moment on May 3, where shoppers who spent RM250 or more could win prizes worth over RM20,000. The event also included performances by Datuk Awie and Yasser Atak, raffles, a balloon drop, games, and traditional Melaka cultural performances.
Supported by Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Melaka, and local partners, the carnival is expected to return next year, promising an even larger shopping experience. Related
