Muhyiddin must take on Kit Siang's challenge
YOURSAY | 'If he does, many non-Malays will support him in the next GE.'
Lim tests Muhyiddin, asks if PN chief will lead 'Malaysian first' campaign
Darmakochi: DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang wants to test former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin. Lim asked if the PN chief would lead a 'Malaysian-first campaign'.
Muhyiddin, can you take up this very justified challenge? If you can take up this challenge, I am sure many non-Malays will support you in the next election!
The Madani government is a total disappointment for many non-Malays like me. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had taken the non-Malays' support for granted. He did not take care of the plight of the non-Malays.
His focus is the Middle East and the Palestinian issue, and possibly in the future, he wants to be seen as a great Islamic leader.
Galaxy M: No, this man (Muhyuddin) is 'dangerous'. He is hypocritical and opportunistic. The country has been divided and polarised by some well-known politicians.
They do not possess the calibre of statesmen like Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew and his successors, who managed to make the barren, tiny island to the south a bright, smart, and developed city-state.
Here, there are selfish, short-sighted, and greedy politicians who are all out to enrich themselves, their families and their cronies.
They ignore the noble act of building our country to become a successful one based on the diversity of race, religion, culture, and language.
They relentlessly manipulate the 2Rs (race and religion) to deceive the voters for political power because they think racism, religion, and bigoted policies can easily appeal to their kind and therefore their target of a Malay-Muslim Malaysia.
NoobMaster69: It appears as if PAS is getting ready to ditch Bersatu and join Madani, and that is why there is a change of tone.
I'm sure with MCA and MIC joining PN without PAS, they will be a balanced opposition, then they can have a better chance of being the government.
PAS sees Bersatu as a liability now after they have emptied Bersatu's coffers. Bersatu has been used and now will be abandoned.
Coward: Lim's challenge is one of the best responses so far to Muhyuddin. Action is louder than words.
Confidence in Muhyiddin is so low that we are not willing to take his words for it. Anyone doing so will be laughed at.
My confidence in him is so bad that I really want to see whether he has thick enough skin to do such a campaign. I fully expect him to revert to his 'former' self after the campaign served his purpose, or when it no longer suits him, whichever comes earlier.
Let Down Since 2018: NoobMaster69, I wonder what will be DAP's reaction if this happens? More fairy tales, perhaps, with a happily ever after ending?
In Bolehland, everything and anything is possible. The political leaders seem to show other countries' political leaders how to be corrupt without serious repercussions.
For MCA and MIC to join PN, Bersatu is just a replacement for Umno. Most Bersatu members are former Umno members anyway.
As for Coward, Lim has told his supporters before GE14 that he has changed. So what now? As the general perception goes, we will surely die if we believe local politicians.
Lim, you should know better. He was one of your comrades-in-arms to bring down BN with former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, whom you have assured your supporters that they have changed.
Just like your party's political cry of Malaysian Malaysia, which has somewhat been muted now so as not to spook the Malays.
To garner some non-Malay votes, Muhyiddin is also changing his tone to Malaysian first. It is just another meaningless political war cry to hoodwink the voters. Nothing of real substance again, really.
Apanama is back: Lim, it (Muhyiddin's statement) is just to get the non-Malay votes. Once he gets it, his Malay-first stance will reappear.
A leopard will not change its spots.
His statement is merely to hoodwink people. Non-Malays had rejected him and his PN coalition long ago.
Even if he said he is Malaysian first and Malay second, his partner, PAS, will disagree with him. He is lying through his teeth.
Steven Ong: Lim, you should be asking your Madani PM to first show a good example that the rest of the racists like Muhyiddin might follow.
At your age, you are still playing politics with the racists?
Know who is the head of the racists and bigots in Malaysia and pray, as words are ineffective now, that his eyes will be opened and he sees heaven and God.
Knucklehead: Is he prepared to lead a campaign to urge all Malaysians to see themselves nationality first, ethnicity second?
Lim, it's not just about words - Malaysians of all races want to see real actions from Muhyiddin. Talk is cheap. What would you do when confronted with real-life issues such as:
KK Mart 'Allah' socks controversy?
Radio DJs mocking Hindu rituals?
Racial slurs during school events?
Religious scholars like Zakir Naik and Zamri Vinoth?
What is your 'Malaysia First' stance on these issues? Dare to speak up? Otherwise balik kampung and tanam jagung.
PinkMarlin6024: Dear Lim, why should you waste your time and effort on the likes of Muhyiddin? Do you think a leopard would change its spots? You are better off focusing your attention on the DAP and guiding it back to its stated goals and objectives.
To say the least, Malaysians are weary and disappointed with politicians from both sides of the divide!
Salvage Malaysia: It's incredible that after more than half a century, Malaysian politicians are still arguing about Malay first or Malaysian first.
Singapore politicians argue about government policies and the bread-and-butter issues that affect Singaporeans. They don't even need to talk about race and religion.
