Sabah FA edge TOT United in MPFL match

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FA edged TOT United 3-2 in the Malaysian Premier Futsal League (MPFL) Division 1 tie held for the first time at Dewan Sri Putatan on Sunday. They took an early two-goal lead in the first half through import player Vitor Da Silva in the 6th minute before he added another in the 13th minute. The visitors were able to reduce the deficit four minutes into the second half with a free kick converted by Mulhim Muqri. However, Igor Paulo Silva was quick to restore the two-goal lead a minute later, but it lasted only three minutes as Nurasyraaf Mohamad was able to score his team's second goal. Despite the desperate attempts by TOT United to find the equaliser, Sabah FA were able to stand firm to collect the maximum points. The victory was Sabah FA's third in eight matches played. They are currently in fourth place with 10 points. Advertisement Their next match is at home against fifth place KL City FC on May 31 at Dewan Sri Putatan. Brazilian import Vitor Manoel Da Silva struck twice early on, giving Sabah a strong lead. TOT United responded with a free-kick goal by Mohamad Sufri Shamil, but Sabah quickly restored their advantage through Igor Paulo Silva. TOT's late second goal by Muhammad Nurasyraaf wasn't enough, as Sabah held on for a historic win. The match was witnessed by SAFA President Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya and Futsal Committee Chairman Muhd Rafiuddin Gulistan.
