Arrest made in Ames shooting that injured 19-year-old
AMES, Iowa — An arrest has been made in an Ames shooting that left a 19-year-old injured.
On February 27 at around 1:15 a.m. the Ames Police Department received a report from a 19-year-old male saying he had been shot in the abdomen. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital via private vehicle.
Man charged with murder in connection to Iowa woman's 1989 disappearance
According to police, the victim reported he had been robbed and shot by two men in the 2500 block of Jensen Avenue. After the shooting, the two suspects fled from the scene.
On Tuesday, the police department announced an arrest had been made in the case. Maliek W. Dut, 22, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and attempted murder.
No additional information or arrests have been announced.
