It has been quite a spring season for college basketball teams across the country. Following an exciting NCAA Tournament that featured Florida, Auburn, Houston, and Duke, programs have been scrambling throughout the spring to fill their rosters for the 2025–26 season. Advertisement With the transfer portal set to close Tuesday night, coaches are working diligently to replace players lost to graduation and the portal itself. The SEC proved to be one of the toughest conferences during the season. With two teams reaching the Final Four and several others making deep tournament runs, the league looks poised to stake its claim as the best in the country. One of the SEC's premier programs received big news on Friday, a development that could significantly bolster its efforts to reload for next season. Arkansas Men's Basketball shared their excitement on social media with the following message: "He's a HOG @MaliqueEwin" Malique Ewin began his collegiate career at Ole Miss before transferring to South Plains Community College. He spent last season at Florida State, where he appeared in 30 games and averaged 14.2 points per game. Advertisement One of his final performances as a Seminole came against SMU, where he played 35 minutes and led the team with 26 points. He went 22-14 during his first year in Fayetteville and reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Ewin will join Nick Pringle as one of the two transfers entering the program. Meanwhile, Zvonimir Ivisic, Melo Sanchez and Casmir Chavis have all departed from the Arkansas program. Report: FSU basketball's junior center Malique Ewin enters NCAA transfer portal

Junior center Malique Ewin was a rising star for Florida State men's basketball during the 2024-25 season. He has now put his name into the NCAA transfer portal, per a report by Joe Tipton of On3. Ewin finished his only season at FSU as the second-leading scorer, averaging 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds a game in 30 games. At 6-foot-11, 230 pounds, Ewin led the ACC in field-goal percentage at 59.6. Throughout his college career, Ewin has bounced around. He began his career at Ole Miss, where he appeared in 10 games before he went the JUCO route and became the top-rated prospect at South Plains Community College. He also had a brief stint at USF but didn't play. Advertisement Ewin is the ninth Seminole to enter the transfer portal following the 17-15 season. FSU has two players signed from the portal as well.
