Jacksonville approves over $95M in commercial construction permits
In an active week of commercial construction permits, over $95 million of work was approved.
Approximately $123.26 million of work was approved across 671 permits for the seven-day period ending April 27. Removing 591 permits for single-family homes, townhouses, duplexes, mobile homes and condominiums leaves 80 permits totaling $95.85 million.

The Jacksonville Jaguars' 'Stadium of the Future' was issued a $43.13 million permit for structural and electrical work on EverBank Stadium. The permit, issued to Hunt Construction, authorizes a structural cast-in-place up to the main concourse, sheet waterproofing and an electrical underground duct bank. Haskew Company & Associates Inc. was issued a $12.19 million permit to expand Malnove Packaging Solutions' Northside facility. The permit outlines construction of a 171,925-square-foot warehouse expansion of Malnove's existing manufacturing site. Malnove is a folding carton manufacturer, specializing in producing paper packaging and uses cutting, printing and gluing processes to form the cartons for a variety of food products. Fixed base operator Signature Aviation is planning a multi-million-dollar project for a new facility at Jacksonville International Airport. Currier & Company Inc. was issued one of five permits for the project last week, this one totaling $9.57 million. This permit covers the construction of three API-350 field erected storage tanks and three new unloading pump and filter skids. Contact Currier at 310-297-5050.
Gilbane Building Company, on behalf of Baptist, was issued an $8.97 million permit covering a build-out of its patient care space in tower C, level eight. The work will happen on its Southside campus at 14550 Old St. Augustine Road. This permit represents Baptist's second multi-million-dollar investment in its Jacksonville facilities, the other being at its flagship campus downtown. Contact Gilbane at 904-900-6352.
A $4.02 million permit was issued to The Robins & Morton Group on behalf of the First Coast Surgery Center. It's one of three permits totaling $7.318 million that will expand the center's operations at 4035 Southpoint Blvd. Construction will add two additional operating rooms, 10 patient bays, medical support spaces and expanded administrative spaces, per submitted documents.
