Malone standout Jackson Welch plays in FACA All-Star game
LAKELAND Fla. (WMBB) – Malone High School senior Jackson Welch was the only player from the Panhandle selected to participate in the 2025 FACA All-Star Game.
'It's a huge honor to represent,' Welch said. 'Being from a rural area that doesn't get much recognition, it's nice to come to a bigger city for a big game and showcase small-town talent.'
Welch led the Malone Tigers, averaging over 15 points per game, with his specialty being three-point shots.
Finishing the year with 379 points certainly caught the eye of the FACA committee.
He says being able to represent the community of Malone is a blessing, especially considering the high school often goes unrecognized.
