Students Tackle Real-World Problems in Manchester Enterprise Challenge – The University of Manchester

On Wednesday, 7th May, student teams participating in the Manchester Enterprise Challenge showcased their innovative solutions to a panel of academic staff, Masood Entrepreneurship Centre representatives, and project hosts. This impactful service-based learning challenge provided students with immersive, hands-on experience addressing genuine challenges faced by local charities, social enterprises, and non-profit organisations. Each team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, strategic insight, and the ability to deliver meaningful, impactful solutions. Participating Teams and Their Achievements Manchester Media Group / Students' Union Explored business strategy and new revenue opportunities. Team: Brenda Chan, Seojun Lee, Huawei Huang, Almos Laskowski, Maggie Tjen Action for Conservation Created a partner network and sourced materials to suit a minimal budget. Team: Blessing Koomson, Hei Man Valerie Tam, Yan Ue Natalie Tse National Football Museum Developed a social media strategy to boost engagement and implement sustainable content practices. Team: Layan Aljohani, Rimaz Alandijani, Fatimah Al Dibil Democracy Volunteers Evaluated election threats and helped draft a report for councils, policymakers and election bodies. Team: Noreen Khan, Alex Park, Jiya Grover What Is the Enterprise Challenge? The Manchester Enterprise Challenge is designed to integrate enterprise education with practical consulting and project management experience in authentic business environments. This unique opportunity allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios whilst developing valuable professional skills.
