Emmerdale's Lisa Riley reveals her extensive glam preparations for the 2025 British Soap Awards as she shares hilarious selfie

Lisa Riley has revealed her extensive glam preparations ahead of the 2025 British Soap Awards, which take place on Saturday. The Emmerdale star, 48, took to her Instagram page on Friday with a hilarious selfie of her with a foam moustache. She penned alongside the snap: 'The preparation for tomorrow nights @thebritishsoapawards on ITV continues this morning…. 'Last night nails✅ brows waxed and tinted roots✅ greys diminished ✅ today has started with the upper lip getting the TLC it deserves. 'Really excited to have a lovely night with all my Emmerdale family.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. At last year's awards ceremony, Lisa was among the stars to walk away with awards as the Dingle clan were named Best Family. The Dingles' award came as the family celebrated 30 years at the centre of the Emmerdale action. Lisa looked stunning for the awards show as she donned a black and white patterned ruched gown, complete with a sweetheart neckline and capped sleeves. Fans will have to wait and see what she pulls out the hat for the 2025 ceremony. Earlier this year, Lisa admitted that there's 'never a day' she feels 'safe' from being axed as a jobbing actor on the soap. The actress has played Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap on and off since 1995, but candidly told how she and her fellow cast members don't take their jobs for granted amid ever going changes. At the time, ITV confirmed that Coronation Street and Emmerdale would be moving to a new scheduling pattern amid ongoing budget cuts, while a number of cast have either quit or have been axed in recent months. Addressing the lack of job security, Lisa revealed in an interview that she's well aware her position on the soap can change at any moment, noting that producer's treat the cast 'like chess pieces' when it comes to the control of their fate. She told The Mirror: 'We are all jobbing actors on the soap and there is never a day where we come in and go: "Oh we are safe". We are a chess piece on the producer's board. Whatever they bring to us, we bring it to the screen. 'And there is always going to be a day when a new producer might come in and need a big wipe out. That is what keeps the audience involved too and so we have to keep up with the climate of what people expect.' Despite sometimes facing job uncertainty, Lisa told how she loves being on the soap as she praised just how hard soap operas work in comparison to other dramas. She added: 'Whenever I am out and about, people tell me: "We love Emmerdale". The fact that I get to be part of it is wonderful. ITV make some big dramas that can be five episodes long. We do five parts in a week. The hamster wheel never stops.' Lisa's talk about episodes comes amid a huge shake-up for both Coronation Street and Emmerdale as episodes have been slashed as ITV budget cuts rage on. During this time, Emmerdale aired six episodes weekly, Monday to Friday with a double bill on Thursdays. Meanwhile, Coronation Street also aired six episodes per week, with two episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Now, only five 30-minute episodes of each show air - a real terms cut to soap broadcast time of 17%. Bosses introduced a soaps power hour from Monday to Friday with 30-minute Emmerdale episodes airing at 8pm and 30-minute Coronation Street episodes airing at 8:30pm. However, each episode will continue to drop at 7am on ITVX before transmission that same evening.

Big Emmerdale stunt 'confirmed' as soap legend posts cryptic Instagram clue

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has teased a big stunt in upcoming scenes with a recent social media post. The Mandy Dingle actress took to Instagram to share a photo of herself on set, standing next to her body double. Both women were wearing blue coats over a leopard print top – very Mandy Dingle – as they held up peace signs to the camera. 'As if one Mandy Dingle was not enough this morning filming at the village at Emmerdale… you get TWO,' she wrote beside the post. 'THANKYOU to my lovely body double Angela, absolute sweetheart,' she continued, before adding that Angela would get to wear Mandy's cowboy boots next time as well. Among the hashtags, Lisa included the word 'stunt', teasing some action ahead. Angela was quick to comment on the post, writing: 'Thankyouuuuuu so much Lisa for all your support and gorgeousness. let's face it .. there's only ONE Mandy Dingle… such a fab day with you.' Lisa's character Mandy is no stranger to dramatic situations, with the stylist having only recently been held hostage at knife point by Ella Forster (Paula Lane). Ella was keen to speak to ex Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), and when Mandy refused to summon him home, Ella pulled out a knife and refused to let her leave until he had arrived. Mandy also narrowly missed being involved in the deadly limo crash in February, when she swapped seats with Liam so that he could propose to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter). More Trending Instead of crashing into the icy lake, Mandy's limo ride ended in a dramatic punch up between brothers Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash). Lisa Riley flashes a peace sign as she poses alongside her Mandy Dingle body double while filming Emmerdale scenes

Lisa Riley flashed a peace sign as she posed with her Mandy Dingle body double on the set of Emmerdale. The beloved actress, 48, and her double Angela rocked the same exact outfit which included a cerulean blue leather jacket with a leopard print top underneath. They both wore black leggings and a grey skirt, styling their raven locks into Mandy's trademark ponytail. As Lisa donned blue boots, Angela instead opted for more comfortable sneakers ahead of filming new soap scenes. The comedian appeared in her highest spirits, flashing a peace sign and a funny smooch while striking a pose with her 'lovely' body double. Sharing the snap on Thursday, Lisa took to her Instagram page and captioned one of her more recent posts: 'As if one Mandy Dingle was not enough this morning filming at the village at @ emmerdale ……..you get TWO, THANKYOU to my lovely body double Angela, absolute sweetheart' 'Next time you get Mandy's Cowboy Boots also just another day at work!!!! #emmerdale #bodydouble #work #filming #actor #actorslife #onset #stunt.' The soap star recently revealed she sought therapy after struggling to cope with her grief in the wake of best pal Robin Windsor's death. The former Strictly Come Dancing star was found dead in a hotel room in London on 19 February 2024 aged 44. The performer was a professional dancer on the BBC show from 2010 to 2013 - partnering with Lisa during the 2012 series - and his death prompted an outpouring of grief across the dancing world. And over a year after his passing, the Emmerdale actress opened up on the toll the loss has taken on mental health and emotional wellbeing, admitting her 'heart's hurting'. Speaking to OK! magazine, she shared: 'I'd never had therapy since losing my mum in 2012. However, with Robin, I had to start having therapy. It really does work. I lost mum, then Robin, and two and half months after Robin we lost my aunt suddenly when she was on holiday. She died having dinner. It was awful.' Meanwhile, the Mandy Dingle star told how without her work colleagues, there were times she didn't feel like she could carry on with her job amid her grief. However, ever the professional, she mustered up the strength to push through with her work, noting how getting into character as bubbly Mandy was her 'coping mechanism'. She said: 'I lost my best friend. I'm so lucky with our dressing room crew at work. Without those girls, some days, I wouldn't be able to carry on. I put the wig on, the make-up and the costume and be funny, but my heart's hurting. My husband-to-be Al has been amazing, but yes, I lost my gay best friend. He and I were Velcro together.' She added: 'I put Mandy Dingle's lashes on and kept going – that's exactly what I did with my mum. That was my coping mechanism.' After his death was announced, heartbroken Lisa paid tribute to her pal on Instagram, writing: 'My bestie, my robin, my angel... now our forever angel, who is loved, will always be loved, forever in my heart... my very broken heart.' In the months after Robin's passing, Lisa revealed her heartbreak after the death of her close friend. Talking to The Mirror in June last year, Lisa compared the sadness at losing Robin to how she felt after losing her mother to breast cancer in July 2012 and added: 'So to then lose my best friend as well... It was like, 'Why does God take the best?'. The actress who has appeared in Emmerdale for nearly 30 years went on to reveal that being at work had been hard. She said: 'He was such a big part of my life. There have been days when I didn't want to go in front of the camera. I had to paint Mandy Dingle on… put the wig and lashes on and go out there. But it's so painful.' The TV star - who accepted the Posthumous Award on his behalf at The British LGBT Awards that same month - added that her co-stars including Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Dingle, and Lucy Pargeter who plays Chas Dingle have been a 'godsend' and 'a great therapy.' Robin was found dead in a London hotel, it has emerged, as his friends detailed his battle against mental health struggles and thoughts of suicide. On January 27 2024, Robin had posed in front of a marina with Cape Town's Table Mountain in the background with the caption: 'This place is the distraction of all distractions!' He looked happy as he took pictures of elephants on safari and relaxed in a lodge overlooking the stunning Leopard Mountain game reserve. The dancer had also enjoyed a one-night stop in Mozambique and was seen relaxing on the beach and posing with a Lemur in Madagascar in the days beforehand. But Robin's last post on Instagram, shared to his 46,000 followers on January 28, was a more muted selfie in the near-dark with the caption: 'Hiding in the shadows.' Seven days earlier, the dancer had reposted a quote saying: 'Trauma teaches you to expect and accept the bare minimum. 'In this new season, may you adjust your standards and learn to receive the maximum. You are worthy. You are enough. You deserve overflow.'
