KUWAIT CITY, June 14: The chairman of Indian Badminton Association-Kuwait (IBAK), Dr. Manimara Chozhan, a distinguished orthopedic doctor and passionate athlete, has added another accolade to his impressive portfolio by winning the bronze medal in the Men's Singles 55+ category at the World Masters Badminton Games 2025, held in Taipei, Taiwan. Balancing a demanding medical profession with competitive sports, Dr. Chozhan's achievement highlights his unwavering dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence, both in the operating room and on the badminton court. At this prestigious international event, Dr. Chozhan showcased outstanding skill and determination throughout the tournament, securing a place on the podium among seasoned global competitors. Dr. Chozhan did both his home country, India, and his adopted second home, Kuwait, proud by winning a bronze medal. Dr. Chozhan is a very passionate badminton player and, in his first appearance at the world masters, managed to beat strong players from Taipei, Singapore, Malaysia, China, and Australia to win a bronze medal in the 55+ category of the Men's Singles event. 'This victory is deeply meaningful for me,' said Dr. Chozhan. 'Not just as a personal milestone, but as a reminder that age is never a barrier to pursuing passion and staying active. The fourth edition of the IBAK Chairman's Cup concludes with thrilling matches

KUWAIT CITY, March 4: The Indian Badminton Association Kuwait (IBAK) successfully conducted the 4th edition of the Chairman's Cup at its Salwa Gym (Saad Al Awzi School) on 27th & 28th Feb 2025. This year's Chairman's Cup 2025 showcased exhilarating matches and fierce competition among 6 teams. The event brought together badminton enthusiasts and community members, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. After an action-packed series of matches, Team 5.30 emerged as the Champion of the tournament demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the competition. Team USC displayed remarkable performance and resilience, securing the runner-up position. It was indeed a battle of nerves between both the teams where in the end Team 5.30 reaped the trophy with a 3-2 lead. This tournament consisted of 6 teams - IBAK Torpedoes, IBAK Arrows, Vikings, Team 5.30, IBCK, and Team USC and was played in a round-robin format. Each tie had 5 matches, 1 Professional Men's Doubles, 1 Advance Men's Doubles, 1 Above 50 Men's Doubles, 1 Intermediate Men's Doubles, and a Mixed Doubles. 4 teams out of 6 teams advanced into the knockout stage. During the final battle Team 5.30 took the lead by winning the Professional Men's Doubles but Team USC took the lead by winning both the Advance Men's Doubles and Above 50 Men's doubles. Team 5.30 again leveled up the score by winning the Intermediate Men's doubles. Team 5.30 sealed victory by winning the decider match of the tie, the Mixed Doubles. Team Vikings lost to Team 5.30 and IBAK Torpedoes to Team USC respectively in the semi-finals. IBAK Chairman's Cup 2025 Teams standings - 1. Team 5.30 – Winner. 2. Team USC– 1st Runner Up. 3. IBAK Torpedoes – Semi Finalist. 4. Vikings– semifinalist The Chairman's Cup 2025 prize distribution was done by Dr. Manimara Chozhan – Chairman of IBAK along with other IBAK committee members. IBAK is committed to improving badminton in Kuwait.
