Zomato delivery partner breaks down in tears after birthday surprise by customers: ‘This is the world we want'
Birthdays are usually filled with cakes, surprises, and people singing your name. But for many delivery partners, they often pass like any other workday — busy, routine, and spent on the move.
Recently, a Zomato delivery agent got a rare break from the ordinary, thanks to a group of strangers who turned his delivery stop into an unexpected birthday celebration.
A now-viral Instagram video shows what started as a regular order turned into a beautiful, wholesome moment for the agent. When the delivery partner arrives, someone from the group playfully remarks, 'Aapki branding dikhi Zomato ki (We spotted your Zomato branding)'.
One of them gently covers his eyes, and guides him inside. Laughing but curious, the delivery agent asks, 'Mere liye kuch special hai kya? (Is there something special planned for me?)'.
When they finally uncover his eyes, the room bursts into a chorus of the Happy Birthday song, with strangers clapping just for him. Overwhelmed, the delivery agent wells up with emotion. The group hands him cookies, sharing warm wishes and laughter in a beautiful, spontaneous moment of kindness.
The overlay text on the video sums it up perfectly: 'POV: You delivered a wholesome moment back to the Zomato rider.'
Krishna Ratnani, who shared the video on Instagram, captioned it: 'Our Zomato delivery guy just got delivered with lots of love.'

Since being posted, the video has racked up over 3 lakh views, and plenty of heartfelt comments. Even the official Zomato Delivery Partner page chimed in, writing: 'June se pehle ata hai May, bhai apko dil se happy birthday (June comes before May, bro a heartfelt happy birthday).'
A user summed it up perfectly: 'This is the world we want, and for that we all will have to change.'
Another user wrote, 'Kya mast kam karta hai mansukh bhai aap (You did a lovely job, Mansukh Bhai)!'
This isn't the first time delivery agents have been made part of such heartfelt moments. In 2023, during a New Year's Eve celebration, a group of friends invited a Zomato rider to join them in cutting the cake — the very one he had just delivered. That video, too, left people smiling across the internet.
