The Hindu, IBM unveil ‘AI@Work' to explore impact of AI across industries

The Hindu Group, in partnership with IBM, has launched AI@Work – Shaping the Future of Business with AI, a year-long initiative that explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a frontier technology but a foundational force powering transformation across Indian enterprises. From driving efficiency and innovation to redefining sectoral strategies, AI is rapidly reshaping the way businesses operate. As companies across sectors shift from experimentation to enterprise-wide AI adoption, AI@Work will surface real-world narratives of transformation with a sharp focus on Manufacturing and Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI). The series will unpack how business models, workflows, and decision-making are being reimagined through AI; explore the shift from '+AI,' where AI is added to existing systems, to 'AI+,' where it is embedded into the very DNA of operations; and examine what it takes to scale AI responsibly and successfully. 'Data is your most powerful asset but only when it's harnessed. With 99% of enterprise data untouched by AI, the opportunity to unlock business value is immense,' said Tuhina Pandey, Director – APAC Communications & CMO, India and South Asia, IBM. 'The power of data lies in unstructured data that is untapped by businesses. Through our collaboration with The Hindu, we're helping Indian enterprises turn this potential into progress with practical AI applications, responsible use of AI, and industry-specific strategies that can scale, propelling the vision of a Viksit Bharat.' The initiative will also spotlight how IBM's AI and data platform, WatsonX, is powering responsible and scalable AI adoption. As 'Client Zero,' IBM has deployed WatsonX across its own operations to drive efficiencies and reduce costs—redirecting these savings into innovation. This positions IBM as both a practitioner and enabler of the AI+ approach. AI@Work – A Platform for Insight, Dialogue, and Action will take a deep dive into the Manufacturing and BFSI sectors through a robust content series featuring expert, sector-specific perspectives. Through video-led panel discussions, expert roundtables, and company profiles, AI@Work will bring together technologists, CXOs, and domain experts to exchange ideas on what's working, what's next, and what's essential. The series will highlight not just stories of technology adoption, but also of organisational redesign, leadership mindset shifts, and cross-functional alignment enabled by AI. The campaign will culminate in a comprehensive e-book compendium, curating insights, strategies, and sectoral roadmaps that organisations can act on. With the first leg launching this month, AI@Work invites India's business leaders, changemakers, and innovators to be part of the conversation—to explore how AI can be adopted not just boldly, but wisely. Suresh Balakrishna, Chief Revenue Officer, The Hindu Group, said, 'This initiative is a unique convergence of editorial credibility and technological depth. Our partnership with IBM will facilitate industry-relevant conversations on technology's role in business and society and drive meaningful engagement.'
