Step Aside Winter Marchtoberfest Is Here
PEORIA, Ill (WMBD) — Gertie the groundhog has had her say, but nothing says 'hello spring' like Marchtoberfest.
Jeff Pulfer, of the Peoria Area German Society, told WMBD This Morning, the real meaning of Marchtoberfest. 'The beer for the first Octoberfest was all made in March'. He was quick to add that it's also a 'halfway to Octoberfest event'.
Pulfer then fast forwarded to current events. Marchtoberfest is Sunday March 2nd, Noon till 8pm, at the Lindhoff, 7601 N Harker Dr, Peoria. It costs 15 dollars for adults but even less if you wear your favorite Dirndl or Lederhosen. The fee includes lots of your favorite accordion music and food. The all you can eat buffet includes the famous 'Munich Special' several other main dishes, and desserts.
