Italian princess crashes ‘headfirst' into wall on motorcycle: ‘Lucky to be alive'
Princess Maria Carolina de Bourbon des Deux Siciles, daughter of Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, has revealed she narrowly survived a serious motorcycle accident.
In an Instagram post featuring photos of her in a helmet and later in a hospital bed wearing a neck brace, the 21-year-old wrote: 'I'm incredibly lucky to be alive. I crashed headfirst into a wall whilst riding a motorcycle and ended up in reanimation in the Intensive Care Unit. Surviving this was nothing short of a miracle.'
She urged others to take motorcycle safety seriously: 'Please ride with care. Wear full protection, especially a proper helmet. Mine saved my life.'
Princess Carolina also expressed gratitude to her medical team: 'My deepest thanks to the outstanding team at Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace for their expert care during those critical days, and to the emergency medical team and first responders on the scene, whose quick and decisive actions in those first moments made all the difference.'

An Italian heiress, Princess Maria Carolina is the elder daughter of Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. She has a younger sister, Princess Maria Chiara, 20.
The princess studied at Harvard and the International University of Monaco, and graduated from the Marangoni Fashion Institute in Paris.
Days before the accident, the princess had attended the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo. In an Instagram post earlier this week, she shared a photo with British F1 racer Lando Norris, who stood first this year. She had also posted pictures with her mother, Princess Camilla, and her sister, Princess Chiara de Bourbon.
Prior to that, on May 15, she walked the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. 'An incredible honour to walk the red carpet at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony,' she had captioned and posted several glamorous photos from the event.
